  1. Also are the 6 copies that worked fine the exact same film/files as the one that doesn't ?? If not you are not comparing like with like..... I agree with Corny, this comes from either the original files or the authoring stage. Have you tried playing the original source files as well ?
  2. This sounded familiar so I did a forum search and found the following: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...=toast&st=0
  3. Don't forget to let us know if the firmware update or LG managed to fix it for you

I saw that one yesterday but decided not to post it from work !!
  5. Ah no worries, we mostly don't shoot a first offence.....
  6. Oh dear guess posting in the ImgBurn support forum was the most intelligent idea when you didn't even use the program.....
  7. Donta - Shunna - thanks for letting us know
  8. I couldn't get any sleep with Wabs like that lying next to me !! :D

  9. mmm sounds like the counter must be in the original source files - are you able to play them and check ? I only ever saw this once before and it was when a friend of mine d/l a copy of a film that was still at the cinema, apart from crap quality it had an "editing" counter running across the top of the film.... ImgBurn does not do this to your files.
  10. Personally I would follow the steps Shamus outlined above and then once that is done I would then upgrade the drives firmware - there is a newer version available at: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2340 Then once the firmware is upgraded burn another DL (Verbatim only) disc but set the speed to 2.4x and then see what happens
  11. Maybe the bosses suggestion helped ?

    LiteOn 20x

Ah so you've met donta's Mrs then !! (That looks like it was taken at Busch Gardens.....) I didn't mean to put you off, I will probably still get one but I was just trying to make the point that I wouldn't buy one just for 20x writing !! I haven't seen any media rated to that speed yet and as can be seen from the disc tests we have done the faster you go the more you have to sacrifice the quality......

    LiteOn 20x

Maybe but we have had 16x burners and media for a while now and even the TY's and MCC dye Verbs are not high 90% on quality at those speeds....

Who me ?? If you're still having problems in that dept volvo I did a quick Google search for you just now and these may help mate.....
  16. ConvertXtoDVD is what I use when converting AVI files and it's not missed anything for me - plus, it's simple to use !!
  17. oh and for DL's burns I wouldn't go above 2.4x anyway, you can see a big drop off in burn quality at higher speeds
  18. ConvertXtoDVD works well http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

    LiteOn 20x

Donta is always slipping one to people in the forum Shamus - For me I want it for it's scanning functions, I agree with 8x giving far better quality burns than 16x I can't see me rushing to buy 20x media !
  20. Lightning UK! I haven't done that for a while !!
  21. I agree - crappy discs are not going to help you. I use Verbatim DVD+R DL only for dual layer burns and still only burn them at 2.4x, it's just not worth the rush with DL.
  22. All will become clear when we see the log !
