  1. My Dell is 3.5 years old and it has USB2 ports, on mine there are 2 at the front and some more at the back..... take a carefule look round and see where there are other USB ports on your case.
  2. There was a guide on the same thing boss, I stumbled across it a few months back when looking for something else Should be easy enough to find with Google.

Like here kirk, the immigrants are better protected by the law than we are.
  4. You can get a version that burns with ImgBurn over at www.digital-digest.com I think....
  5. Please, for fooks sake, just burn the bloody CD !!!!!
  6. You need to use the little icon of the green man on the disc to set the "auto" speed for that media type ! It will open up a new window for you to do this.
  7. Well personally I don't go above 8x for most of my burns, some I do at 12x but thats on A Grade media. The only time I use Max is for disc tests in the drives/media forum, don't forget with ImgBurn you can use Auto and set individual burn speeds for each type of Media ID, this is what I do. As for Read speeds just leave it on defaults
  8. I thought you wanted a back up of this disc ? If so use WRITE mode, select the .iso you have just created and let ImgBurn do its stuff ! It will also verify the burnt copy against the original image for you as well Let's just get you happy with this bit before we move onto Building images yeah ?
  9. Is that the full error message ? Also can you confirm the make and model of your drive and firmware as well if possible. ImgBurn reports this for you....... look in the GUI window to the right
  10. We could make a few but a copy of the relevant ImgBurn log would really help us - please can you post it up ? If you look under Help/Imgburn Logs you will see that the program saves them for you ! A bit more info would help too - what is the film ? Does the original play in the same player ? etc etc
  11. Don't forget to let us know how you get on with the next burn

I have to admit that kind of attitude from immigrants really gets my goat. You see all their "support" groups whining on about how our lifestyle values offend them, they just want to be left alone to live their lives as they do in their own country etc etc. Well if it's so good there why come to the UK ??
  13. Oh and if the files you are backing up are not movies etc why don't you just use single layer discs ? They are much cheaper !!
  14. I don't have one of your drives but normally you open the flasher, select the firmware and then select your drive if it doesn't find it for you ! You don't normally need to do the previous fw updates either, just install the last one.
  15. Damn forgot to say that I have some Verb 16x DVD+R's at home and they are good discs - what is the media ID on the ones you bought ?
  16. There is a guide created by Cornholio in the same forum that explains how to interpret the DVDinfoPro graphs, if you look at his example and then the scans in the media/drives forum it should all become a little clearer http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2168 As for posting an opinion, we don't do that. For me there is no point, the graphs and the quality score % tell the story for us. Basically any graph that has red in it is not a good sign and for a quick and dirty guide the quality % score should be above 90% (higher the better) for quality discs... What you will see when looking at the results is that some drives burn Media ID's (dye manufacturer) better than others, it's common to see score of 90+% on one drive and 80% on another, therefore our opinion would not be as valid unless you were using the exact same drive. As for the discs your work bought you need to find out what the Media ID is for them really, for instance the ones in the forum that we tested are either TTH02 or Prodisc, once you know this take a look at their results.
  17. I don't want to appear rude but did you actually try this above ? I was hoping to read today that you had and all had been successful however I am not sure from your post above whether you even did the disc you originally wanted to !! Your only concern is surely whether the source disc is CD or DVD, once you know this you simply select the same type of blank media and follow the simple 2 steps above..... Please please just try it.....
  18. DVD-R DL's are terrible discs for movies as you cannot set the layer break on them and therefore it's no surprise your standalone players cannot play them back. For Dual Layers you should only buy Verbatim DVD+R DL's as these are the only reliable option. If your drive supports it I would recommend bitsetting to DVD-ROM for movies as this should allow older DVD players to play them back. The guides are not bad if you follow them step by step, if you want to use Nero then you are in the wrong forum ! Try Nero Support for assistance with that program.........
  19. Ok I see you have edited your previous post with some more info - to be honest I think you are making this much harder than you need to The steps are very easy: 1. Use ImgBurn to read the CD/DVD with the files you want to backup and note where you save them. 2. Switch ImgBurn to Write mode and select the same file you saved under step 1 above and burn to CD/DVD That's it, I can't understand why you are getting files of different sizes when following these steps ?
  20. Erm the correct one is the one you created with ImgBurn I would say wouldn't you ? Look at the details part under windows explorer and match the one to the time/date you created it ? Not sure why you would want ISO files associated with winrar tho
  21. Unless it was already a Winrar archive it won't have been converted into one by ImgBurn, I think what has happened is that ISO's are associated with winrar on your pc - you can change this so that the files do not look like winrar files if you are going to get confused The file should be an iso so now use the write option to burn it back to disc and see if that is what you wanted !
