The drive sounds ok on the decent media - if you want to burn with Dual Layer discs only buy Verbatim DVD+R DL's, they are the only ones that burn consistently well Welcome to the forum

You should still be able to burn just fine with that warning message You can do as digi said and also there is a piece in the FAQs about it too !

In my experience of the testing discs for the forum my drives only reached 16x on rated media towards the very end of the burn as expected.

I don't rate the Ritek DL's I am afraid they are too inconsistent for me, check out Drives/Media forums for scans with that media. That said if you have been problems with the Verbs as well that sounds odd - did you manage to burn a new Verb DL after the firmware update to 1.29 ? I have a Pioneer DVR-111 with 1.29 and it loves the Verbs...
