  4. Arm full of puppies ?? You lucky bast Ken !!
  5. We see everything !!! In fact what we saw you doing last night is illegal in most civilised countries
  6. Shop bought DVD's are pressed I believe and not burnt so I don't think you can compare them. I have seen articles on DVD pressing machines etc when using Google. As for the speed thing I guess the answer is yes - it's a personal taste thing, I am happy with burning single layers at 8x (some like TYG02/TYG03 at 12x) and DL's at 2.4x. I like the quality scores at those speeds.....

    LiteOn 20x

I still don't like 16x burns as much as 8x ones
  8. Hi - excuse my ignorance but I cannot for the life of me see why you are so in need of this ? To my mind and looking at the posts above, ImgBurn is fixing errors created by the authoring program and should always do this..... Why would you want to maintain files that are not correct ?
  9. I would definitely get Verbatim DVD+R DL's - I know you have been using this media ok up until now but this kind of failure is something we see in the forum with lower quality media. In many ways you are lucky to have had any run of successful burns

    LiteOn 20x

Doesn't the Liteon do scans as well Grain ?
  11. Sorry guys I was erm burying erm something that erm you shot and forgot to issue the memo..... Still no harm done, the swamp mud washed off the truck and those Alligators sure looked hungry......
  12. Well if you look at the Drives/Media section of this forum you can see the results yourselves, in my experience the faster you burn the lower the quality, look at Taiyo Yuden TYG03's burnt at 16x and then again at 8x, on all my drives (Pioneer, NEC & BenQ) they produce better results at 8x than 16 even on 16x TY's ! I have also found the same with the Verbatim DVD+R DL's, burnt at 2.4x you get good results across most burners, however we have seen people posting with problems when burning at 8x or even 6x ! For me, given the price of the discs I am happy to wait another 15-20 minutes for the burn. That said your drives might be fine with the higher burn speeds on DVD+R DL's, thing is you will have to try it and see and then use DVDinfoPro to scan (BenQ and Liteon drives do this) the discs and obtain a quality score.
  13. Really ?? It's one of the easiest programs I have ever used, well apart from a certain DVDD and ImgBurn, perhaps the latest version is more complicated but on the one I d/l a while back it really couldn't be more simple Chewy. What's giving you grief ?
  14. Me either I always bit set my DL burns so as to avoid coasters ! Pleased to see that it all worked out with Verbatims - you got there in the end eh !!
  15. Thanks for letting us know !
  16. That has always been my understanding too - like you I was surprised when Verbatim said it could be done. Maybe their tech support team were having a bad day ?

    LiteOn 20x

Mmm the test the boss did looks ok doesn't it ? Altho the CD speed rated it at 84% which is more what I would expect from those sort of speeds...
