I didn't know Grain had a 1650, I thought he had a 1655 like me I know he has posted scans in the media section with the 1655 and BCIB firmware.

It's such a crap show and I still think this is being blown out of proportion by the producers, Channel 4 to rescue and ailing show from crap ratings. Great first post ! That's probably because ImgBurn is an Image Burning program and NOT a ripping program !! Where have you been ? Decrypter has not been developed for ages following a brush with Big Brother...... You can use whatever program you like but I honestly believe that there is no better burning program than ImgBurn, its burning engine (for want of a better word) is far better than DVDD's and is continually developed to support new drives etc.

I am sure I read that the human eye can't see most of these millions of colours anyway As for VCR's they are quite hard to get hold of now here in England Shamus, most if not all of the mainstream electrical retailers have stopped selling them. You can still get them mail order tho...

I have said it before but when burning discs I prefer TY's and Verbs to anything else, great reliability and 100% compatibility. You must be burning 24/7 Pain-Man

When I eventually move into Bluray/HD DVD burning I will look to get a dual format one as well.....

Seeing as 2.4x is the only supported speed with these discs and the drive above ImgBurn will attempt to burn at that speed anyway.

Having performed a fair few tests for the media forum alongside corny and LUK! I would confirm that you really can tell the difference in nearly all cases between the cheaper media and the quality stuff like Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden

I would go with any of the drives the boss suggested - after all he has probably used more than the rest of us !!
