How old is that drive ? I checked for firmware updates as I believe there should be more supported write speeds than just
My drive can write to those discs at upto 16x but yours only supports 4x burning. At www.rpc1.org there is only your current firmware of 1.11 and it says your drive is a limited version of the DVR-108.
At the pioneer support page there is a firmware update that may be newer than yours:
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/content/suppor...t/software.html
Scroll down the page until you get to the DVR-MCC section (Just above the External DVD writers sections) and you could try that firmware update to see if it improves your burns and playback problems.
There is a link to firmware updates written by Shamus in my signature if you haven't done one before ! Good luck
Can you post a log of your last ImgBurn burn with these discs ? If you are burning at Max speed try reducing the speed to 8x and see if the results are any better
I would also let ImgBurn verify the burns you are doing - especially with those discs. That should tell you straight away whether the discs are any good or not. When ImgBurn is burning just tick the Verify box and it will do it's stuff for you. Then you can post the complete log here.
I would still bet on the media causing your problems.
Check out Drives/Media section for reviews of the discs available to us for testing, I have never heard of the discs you are using and from the problems you are seeing I suggest they may be poor quality.
Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs are very reliable
Kev won't - he's a tart and is always "open" !
Seriously the verb DL's should sort you out as the lads above said. You can check out the Media/Drives section of this forum for comparitive scans of the Ritek dye DL's and the Verb ones... The quality scores and scans are poor on the Ritek DL discs...

Online stores are the best place to get Verbatims most times:
In the UK/Europe you can get them from www.svp.co.uk
In the US you can try www.meritline.com
Even if you don't understand the file system ImgBurn helpfully tells you where to look ! I thought from your post that you had already looked in the destination above and it wasn't showing....
Jack - spinner cut down the tree's, he confessed to it in his earlier post.
PM - How about does a smell if you do it and then immediately leave it in an empty room ??
If you post a copy of one of your Dual Layer burn logs from ImgBurn we can check the media ID on the discs, but if they are Verbatim DL's you will already know this from the case/spindle.
I wonder if the file is being classed as a "hidden file" ? You know the sort that don't show up in normal searches unless you tick for them to be included in windoze explorer search ?
Hello and welcome to the forum !
ImgBurn is not a ripper (unlike the old DVDD) and therefore cannot be used as such. We are unable to discuss DVDD related matters in this forum/
ImgBurn does build and burn your files etc and more information can be found in the Guides section
