These are the speeds you can burn at. Why do you want to burn a CD at 1x?

Hi and welcome to the forum, back in 94! Might be that your burner is also back in '94 and can't write DL media. Check if it can: Enter Write mode. Main Menu -> Tools -> Drive -> Capabilities

Hi and welcome to the forum, snugelkin! You have more or less nothing on the burned disc. The posted image from the VIDEO_TS folder is the original files that you want to burn? The first part of the log shows that you do select the right stuff - then you suddenly change your mind and load a .mds file with not much data associated to it. Do the first part again in the build mode and then select the output to 'Image File' - this way you should have an image file that you can burn and also should work.

No, ImgBurn can't convert avi files.

Hi and welcome to the forum, suggsy! I guess you want to be able to play the burned disc on a regular DVD player? If so, you need to convert the avi file to DVD Movie files first. Here is one free program that can do it. http://www.dvdflick.net/

Mount the ISO with a tool like Virtual Clone Drive and then use the build mode to create a new image/write to disc.

Could be a solution. They are pretty cheap these days.

My personal feeling is that that is one of the myths about burning.

Long shot. The disc your friend burned - was it set to a specific region? Perhaps your tricky readers don't like region free discs. If you can - get a copy of a burn log from your friend.

The original ISO is never damaged/changed. ImgBurn can't edit files/folders in an ISO directly.

Start a new thread with your issue and attach a burning log.

The last option is to try with another brand of media - if that also fails - replace it.

The symptoms indicate that. A cleaning disc might help - burners like to attract dust.

If it has worked before with this brand of media (media code) and now suddenly doesn't - it might be that the burner is broken and needs to be replaced. You could try with another brand of media or clean the laser head with a lens cleaning disc.

Saw a similar thread yesterday - also with CDRW discs (another burner and O/S). If you use a regular CD disc - same issue? How is your burner attached? Directly to a SATA on the mother board?

There is a later firmware (a program that instructs the burner how to burn). You now have ver 1.10 and here is a ver 1.14.
