Hi and welcome to the forum, hugaby!
You have any "old" log from a similar burn that you can post? It would gives us a little hint about your setup.
Old logs: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
Even if you restart the computer you get this problem?
Hi and welcome to the forum, Draco1!
Couldn't find any later firmware for that burner.

Tried with another brand of discs?
Based on the log - it was not a good burn - the burner couldn't even read back what it had written.
Perhaps try on a more Windows tech based forum to find out the best drivers for the mother board.
Have you tried the 2.5.0.0 version of ImgBurn? There is also SP3 of XP out now.
Could be the chipset drivers of the mother board. The only way to rule out the burner as the culprit is to put it in another computer. I have the 216 model and have burned several in a row here without issues (6x speed) and it sounds odd that the burner should be the real issue.
If it's SATA

There is also the Pioneer 218. It's a new chip (Mediatek) compared to the 217 and below series (Nec chips). I couldn't find any 216 or 217 models at Newegg - but from what I've seen so far on burnings with the 218 it looks like a nice burner.

Normally the Windows drivers works best IMHO - but Win7 is still a beta and who knows?
It's a SATA burner? I have an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe motherboard myself and SATA optical units on my board is a joke. I ended up with an internal Silicon Image SATA card to get it to work.
ImgBurn has no multi session support. Search before you waste discs.
They did. It's called Windows Vista.
Try Microsoft. I'm sure they respond within 8 minutes.
Hi and welcome to the forum, pairdime!
Tried the 4x write speed?
Latest chip set drivers for the mother board installed?
If you attach the burner to another computer - same issue?
Tried to clean the laser beam with a DVD cleaning disc?

Drivers should not be needed. Windows will install them if you have removed the burner and then restarted the computer.
If it can't burn Verbatims without issues it can be the firmware that needs to be up to date. It could be a bad disc in the spindle - you know if you try to burn more discs. It could also be that the laser beam needs a cleaning with a DVD lens cleaning disc.
Nec changed it's name to Optiarc when they teamed up with $ony.
Try to use the .bin file you'll find here:

Then flash it with this tool

Yes, something like this one
If that also fails, then I would replace the burner or get a nice external USB attached burner. Slimline burners often have issues compared to the full height burners.
Hi and welcome to the forum, powerarmor!
Tried with another brand of discs?
The burners laser head perhaps needs to be fixed with a laser beam cleaning disc.
Hi and welcome to the forum, UKmonkey!
Any problems burning regular single layer discs with that burner? Tried to attach it to another computer for a DL burn?
It's a Samsung SH-S202 based burned from what I can see. Have you tried the 4x speed?
Hi and welcome to the forum, ehurt11!
Use the read mode of ImgBurn. Most games do however have copy protections and ImgBurn can't deal with that.
There are guides on how to use the read mode in the Guides forum.
