  1. Crosspost http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=11291&hl=
  2. The only thing in the 2.5.0.0 version that I could find in the change log that might could trigger this odd behavior is this What would happen if you set the write speed to 10x instead of MAX in the write speed selection box?
  3. Try this. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=&...dpost&p=967
  4. Hi and welcome to the forum, Jared! Sounds more as a DMA issue. A burn log would be nice.
  5. Did you problems start after the crossflash of the NEC ND-3551A to a NEC ND-4551A? Did you install the update to ver 1.09 of the firmware?
  6. In the .mds file there is the name of the full .iso file + possible the layer break to be used. As far as I can see the burning is ok. I think you will get better support on how to install that disc on a Mac in a true Mac forum, such as this one: http://forums.macrumors.com/index.php
  7. LG should work.
  8. the .mds file is only holding information about the .iso. Is there an 'Install Mac OS icon' on the burned disc?
  9. You can use this program to see what's on the original .iso file - www.7-zip.org - if it's contains 4 .rar files in that original .iso file also - then it is as it should. The burning part is ok. Perhaps look at the Mac place you got the installation disc to find out how to use it.
  10. Hi and welcome to the forum, ButterTart! Can you post a log from one of these burns? You'll find it here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  11. I have the same discs (media code) as you have and these can be burned at 10x with ver 2.5.0.0. I guess it's Verbatims you also have? You are burning on the fly. If you create an image first when you are in build mode (set output device to Image File) and then burn the created image file in the write mode - do you get any faster speeds then?
  12. Yes, if the ISO file is authored properly by the one who created it. The layer break window will only show up when you burn DVD Movie files.
  13. Stand alone players do wear out and as they can be played on the other players it sounds as it's time to get a new one.
  14. Dual layer discs holds more data (no need for DVD Shrink) - but your current project fits well on your single layer discs. If they worked before it could be one of following issues. 1. You just had a bad disc in that spindle. 2. The burner needs it's laser beam head cleaned. Can be done with a laser head cleaning disc. 3. The burner is broken.
  15. Hi and welcome to the forum, erikakazan! Start a new thread with your issue and we can take it from there. Old threads usually gets so messed up when there are several persons posting about issues.
  16. Looks to me as a good burn that should be possible to play in a stand alone player. If you still get issue - try to clean the laser head of that stand alone player that refuses to play.
  17. Hi and welcome to the forum, Chicoquente! Yes, it was introduced in ver 2.5.0.0.
  18. There is a later firmware for the 4551 burner. http://www.firmwarehq.com/NEC/ND-4551A/files.html and also for the 3550 http://www.firmwarehq.com/NEC/ND-3550A/files.html
  19. The error handling in DVD Decrypter for the finalize part did not report all error codes compared to ImgBurn. ImgBurn tells you about the issue - DVD Decrypter fails to tell you. IMHO the brand of burner you have is the most tricky one on the market. You have the best media on the market and still your burner only produces coasters. The most common working solution with that brand + laptop is to get a good external USB attached burner.
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum, Ficus! The lowest for the DVD is 4x and even if you select 1x - it will go for 4x. The CD seems to pick the highest speed, even if you select a lower value. There is a later firmware for that burner. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Asus/DRW-20B1ST/files.html
  21. Start DVD Flick Press the button 'Guide'
  22. Hi and welcome to the forum, ballin1! Most stand alone players will require that the files on the burned disc is in DVD video format. You could use this program to convert the source file. http://www.dvdflick.net/
  23. In the .zip file the is a Readme_winUpdater.htm file. Read it first. Be aware that the flash could go south and the burner be useless (not very likely - but it can happen) Firmwareupdate ND-2510A (GEN) to Version 2.19 unit ND-2510A (GEN) on "K251GN90.exe" file No disc in the tray All other programs closed After the flash - restart the computer You could also post a thread over at CDFreaks and they should know exactly how you do - they know more about firmware/crossflashing for this model - before you start the firmware update.
  24. Well, you could try to flash it with Nec 2510 firmware - if it works - it works. If not - you know it didn't work. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_332-fil...19-20A.zip.html No idea where you live - but a burner costs about what you pay for 20-25 MacDonald Cheese burgers.
  25. There is a free way to get it to burn DL media - flash it with firmware for the Nec 2510 model. But this burner was released 2004 and I'm not sure I would trust it with double layer burning. I have the 2510 model and I never liked it. A good burner today doesn't cost very much. A nice burner could be a Pioneer 116 or 117 model. The Optiarc 720x model is also good.
