I doubt it's the filters. You have another computer to put that tricky DVD writer in? That would for sure pinpoint if the burner is the problem or not. I guess the ImgBurn author will give you the final verdict when he reads this thread. I'm just out of ideas right now.

Just a note. You should install the Service Packs. I think there was some USB issues before SP1. The logs with no USB issues, seems to be ok.

In the log window: Edit -> Select All then Edit -> Copy then past it into a posting window here.

You have another brand of discs you could try with? I think it's Roxio that installs it. Usually a harmless one.

You could post about your issue over at http://club.cdfreaks.com/ - in the Pioneer sub forum. I think they know more about your issue than we do here and also if they know a way around it. Edit: Dumb question: Why not have both burners installed - that way you can still burn them at the higher speed in the old burner.

An easy option is to buy the 8x rated Verbatim +DL media instead. Loaded the Pioneer 1.09 firmware from the Pioneer 115 and in MediaCodeSpeedEdit - the speed selections are grayed out. Perhaps not possible to edit it in that program. In such case - your only option is the above. Not even sure that Pioneer 118/218 is supported in those tools.

Hi and welcome to the forum, Harry Baules! Those Verbatims with media code MKM-001-00 are the 2.4x ones. Only guessing - but it might be that the old burner had the later firmware releases supported for higher speeds as they could deal with overspeeding that media and this new burner only supports 2.4x with the current 1.00 firmware, as the result might have been a joke with higher speeds and Pioneer therefore decided to drop the allowance of higher speeds. Edit: Slow as usual You might be able to trick it to burn higher if you edit the firmware with MediaCodeSpeedEdit. The drawback is that the warranty will be gone with the wind.

Main Menu -> Tools -> Filter Driver Load Order (use the copy to clipboard and then just past the info into a posting window here) Also use 2.4.4.0 - it's the one that is supported.

Hi and welcome to the forum, swampwizard52! You can you post a log from ImgBurn? Start the program and look in the log window - if you see something about 'to many secrets' - look in the FAQ section.

In a healthy computer (you don't get any buffer issues in the log) the buffer will have no impact on the read or burn quality.

It's not possible. You have to remember that an iso is a disc image and for ImgBurn an image is pretty much just 0 and 1 numbers and to interpret what could be on all the various images files people have is just impossible. If you want to do what you want - split the iso's with a program like www.7-zip.org and then use some re authoring program to get them to one disc.

That there are no listed write speeds, is that the media id is not listed in the burners firmware. In such cases, the burner tries with a generic write approach. Sometimes it works and sometimes you get a write error. If you are concerned about disc quality - you should have the verify option enabled. The sure way to know about the disc quality is to do a disc scan with a reader/burner that supports that function.

The first one is a wii game. I'm not god with games. I guess someone else will have to help you with that one. The second one is a regular DVD Movie disc. Does this one play if you use a regular standalone DVD player?

Can you post the burn log from one/both of those failed burns? You'll find them here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs

Most games have some type of copy protection on them and ImgBurn can't handle copy protections.

Hi and welcome to the forum, sundance2009! The only way to set a burner as default in ImgBurn is to start the program and then select the burner you want in the drop down list. The selected burner will be saved as the "default/last used" when you close the program. When you then use MultiAVCHD - does it no then use your default burner? The only way to have the burn to start without pressing the "burn" button is to use the ImgBurn command lines. There is a ReadMe.txt file in the programs program folder.

Hi and welcome to the forum, z28kevdog! Tried another speed - like 8x? Might be that the laser beam is dirty and you need to run a cleaning disc in it. You should have the Verify option enabled, to ensure that the write was good. Especially now when you get write errors.
