  1. It makes nice burns at 6x. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=10899
  2. Hi and welcome to the forum, killerhaze2! You should be able to find the log in this location: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  3. Hi and welcome to the forum, pickles! It's been suggested several times before and the main reason for it not have been implemented yet is that there is no good way to determine if DMA is in PIO mode. Many times we have told users that they are in PIO mode and they have returned with images from Windows Device Manager stating that they are in DMA mode, so the reason is that Windows can report the devices to be in DMA mode even if they are in PIO mode. So until Microsoft fixes this 'false' reporting - the author has put these suggestions on ice. You can also get slow speeds with crappy media, so it's not 100% indication to just trust the speed factor.
  4. Hi and welcome to the forum, diamond_ops! Tried another write speed than the 1x - like 2x, 4x, 6x, 8x?
  5. Depends on what is on the final burned CD - if it's an .avi file and your DVD player can play it, then yes. You also need a 99 min CDs to burn it, as you can't compress the .bin.
  6. Might be that you need to restart the computer to have 7-zip install it the Windows menus.
  7. In 7-zip Right click on the .bin file and select the sub menu item 'Unpack to <foldername> It doesn't work with all .bin files.
  8. If it's not a VCD you could try this workaround Split the .bin file with www.7-zip.org and then use build mode to get it to a DVD.
  9. Hi and welcome to the forum, alistairdale! What's in the .bin file? If the .bin file can fit on a CD, why spend the extra money to have it on a DVD disc?
  10. Open up ImgBurn Open up Create CUE File Drag the files to the CUE window from Windows Explorer = 3 steps...
  11. Tried BurnPlot on my Windows Me computer and it wouldn't start. The file GDIPLUS.DLL was missing. Downloaded the GDIPLUS.DLL file and then it worked without any issues. I guess the same issue will happen on Windows 2000 and NT computers. Save the GDIPLUS.DLL file in this location: Windows 9x/Me - \windows\system Windows 2000/NT - \windows\system32
  12. From what I can understand that burner was released around three years ago and I wouldn't pay to much for such an old burner. The issue might be that you will see no new firmware releases for such an old burner. One of the latest Pioneer USB burners looks to me very slim http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/45/75/4...XD08/index.html but slim models usually creates more problems than regular full high ones. I would go for a USB cabinet + Pioneer 1xx IDE. Pioneers book type +R DL automatic, but R+ media you need to edit the firmware before you can book type those discs. Very easy to do.
  13. If you are lucky, one of those Sony burners is a rebadged Lite-On and can be used for quality scanning purposes to determine the best speed for your media. Slower speed = fewer errors was perhaps true back in the old days when the fastest media sold were 8x and the burners max write speed was around the same.
  14. Then it's time to write a letter to Santa and tell him that you want a new burner for Christmas.
  15. If you open up the .dvd file in Notepad (or any other text editor), you will see that it only holds data that is used by the burning program to get key values to burn the .iso file. In this example it tells the burning program that it's a DVD image and that the data to burn to the disc is in the file 'KILL_ME.ISO'. In your .dvd file it might also hold the value for the layer break position.
  16. Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs Find the part that is from that failed burn and post it here.
  17. In ordinary English - that it doesn't like those discs.
  18. More or less that your burner still don't like that brand. What happens if you use the A104 firmware? If that also fails - either use the media that's in the link mmalves posted or get a new burner that likes these new kind of media codes (8x rated discs).
  19. Hi Jonathan and welcome to the forum! You could try to get a later firmware installed from this page. Your current one is A102. It might support those discs better. http://www.firmwarehq.com/LG/GSA-4120B/files.html It's a rather old burner and it seems to have problems with these newer media codes. Have you been able to burn these discs with this burner before?
  20. If you know how to use a screwdriver it shouldn't be any issues to replace it yourself.
  21. If you have SP2 installed, you should see this in the ImgBurn log.
  22. http://help.unc.edu/3980
  23. Can't hurt to install what there are if they are listed as essential. SP1 can be found here also. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en When you have SP1 installed - you can install SP2 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsserver/dd262148.aspx
  24. It should show you available updates to install.
  25. Start Internet Explorer Main Menu -> Tools -> Windows Update
