  1. This seems to be the issue with us that are not English. If I change the 'Regional and Language Options' in the Windows control panel from this format to this format I get it to work
  2. @ Jason1313 You should have the same type of 'stuff' as you had in the post #7. Now you only have the first part of the disc info.

  4. Do you get any error message when you try to run the .exe file from Process Explore?
  5. I've also been using some Verbatim SL +R media from India lately and they are also great.
  6. My 50 spindles Verbatim -R also comes from Taiwan and I think they are good. It's the Chinese ones that can have a tricky quality level.
  7. I'll run a test on my computer to switch Vista to English as default language, to see if that makes a difference. Having the ability to save in .png format would also be nice.
  8. @ corny My graphs looks the same as your graph in my Vista computer. @ onanidaily Great idea!
  9. No, IDE to USB. Not sure there are any cabled that can make it from USB to IDE. Seems easer to plug an USB device to USB directly.
  10. There are also some cables that can make the connection without any box around the burner.
  11. Something like this one. Put a normal IDE burner in it. Most of them have a separate power cable to be connected. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...amp;lid=1022061
  12. The best solution for lap tops seems to be to get a good IDE connected burner and place it an USB box. Those half heights burners have all their share part of problems.
  13. All my Nec/Optiarcs always have a sudden drop in buffers, due to recalibrating. If your graph looks like this - it's normal.
  14. Lowest speed is not always the best ones. One of my Pioneers likes the 6x write speed best. If you used the same media code/discs and it worked it the pass, it could be so easy that your burner needs to get in contact with a laser head cleaning disc.
  15. In my area those are the only one that can be found. Costs some banana slices more than the regular ones - but I have no issues with these discs on my burners. The 8x rated can have issues with older burners. If you have a recent one - it shouldn't be any problems (if you don't have one of the notorious bad burners from a certain manufacture). Do you know where they are made? Singapore made seems to be the best ones to use.
  16. Might be that you have a re badged burner and that firmware is only for genuine LG burners.
  17. If it also errors on the 4x and 8x write speed - it sounds as it's time to get a new burner.
  18. The Discovery Mode is not something you use when you do a regular burn - the burned disc will be filled with dummy data. Enable the option to save a graph data file for DVDInfoPro in the settings. Press Ctrl + Alt + D to get to Discovery Mode Selct 'All sectors' Enable the 'Verify' option Insert a blanc disc Set the write speed Press the burn button
  19. Try to run a disc cleaner product that cleans the laser head.
