  1. Yes, I also doubt that Nero 9 is the issue. Sounds more as there is an issue with chip set drivers or that you have a hard disk on the same channel that is slowing down the speed.
  2. Installed any drivers lately that could have any impact or added new hardware?
  3. Look at post #15 in this thread. http://forums.windrivers.com/showthread.php?t=71380
  4. As it is a Dell computer - you might wanna post in the Dell support forum about your issue on how to get it to DMA mode. I think that the people that do the support in that forum knows better how you fix it. I never had a Dell computer. http://en.community.dell.com/forums/3534.aspx http://winhlp.com/node/10
  5. Hardware -> Motherboard
  6. Where can I find that program?
  7. Do you know the model of your mother board? I guess you need to check in the BIOS to see if there is any 'odd' setting. You can use this program to find out your model. http://www.gtopala.com/
  8. Did you try to uninstall the IDE Channel in the device manage?
  9. The playback should not be affected if you insert new splits (cells) in the old files. The only thing that will change is that you need to use the new information in the ImgBurn window that will tell you where to insert the split.
  10. Then you need to get a double layer disc for your task.
  11. I never had a LG writer myself. It looks as a nice writer if you read the review in CDFreaks.com http://club.cdfreaks.com/f91/cdfreaks-pres...-review-252153/ If you know what type of media codes you are going to use with this burner, like 'Disc ID: MKM-003-00' - you can find scans of burned discs in this thread - so you know what to expect if you buy it. http://club.cdfreaks.com/f91/lg-gh22n-l-re...cussion-242448/
  12. All serious enterprises that sell their programs have one thing in common, that you can install a demo version. If they not offer that - never buy it.
  13. Or try to download it again from Microsoft.
  14. What happens if you reboot the computer - will it then show Current Transfer Mode: DMA Mode.
  15. This is my test in Nero 8. Nero is laying, it never burned it at the rate it tells you. So you have the same issue in Nero as in ImgBurn. I had the same issue with my SATA writers on my ASUS motherboard. I ended up getting an internal SATA card instead.
  16. It should not stay PIO.
  17. 11 minutes doesn't sounds as a 16x write speed to me. More like 6x and that is also what ImgBurn reported. I'm not sure if Nero shows the verify part in the log. I'll check and return.
  18. Here is a more detailed guide. http://www.cdrlabs.com/forums/how-enable-d...ures-t7625.html
  19. Hi and welcome to the forum, jeff a! Have you now or previously had Daemon Tools installed?
  20. I have the same burner. With the first firmware (the one you have) it was the pure crap. Later firmware releases have improved it. This is the Samsung firmware page. http://www.samsungodd.com/Eng/Firmware/FWD...earchWord=s223f
  21. Something is still not right. Sure you did the DMA fix?
  22. Can you post the log?
  23. Yes. The tray will be ejected and then it's done.
