If you look at this row in your log: There is no 'Disc ID' field. That indicates that your writer doesn't support the disc you are trying to erase. Compare it with this log and you'll see that there is a 'Disc ID' field.

Hi and welcome to the forum, Merlincat! If you open up the burned disc in Windows Explorer, can you then see a VIDEO_TS folder with some .bup/.ifo/.vob files inside. There might also be an AUDIO_TS folder in the root of the disc.

Hi and welcome to the forum, brotherblues! It is possible to use a DVD author program to create that function. I doubt you have done that. Might be that your stand alone player is set to play in an endless loop.

Assuming that it's a home made DVD you want to transfer to your hard disk - you can use the 'Read Mode' and then just use a free program like www.7-zip.org to split the image file.

What does ImgBurn say?

Curious. Those that could be burned without issues. Did you have the 'Verify' option enabled on those ones?

Just to be sure. You have installed the latest fimware version? So when you burn it now says You say that you have used these discs in the past with no problems. It might be that TDK changed the dye. Can you check with an old disc that it have this red string. (Insert the disc and select Read mode - you should see the info in the right panel of ImgBurn.) Have you tried to burn at 8x speed?

I doubt that ISOs of certain sizes should need a different interface.

According to this page there is no later firmware for the Dell model of the writer. http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/NEC-ND-3530A/ Yes, you could try to open it up. A new writer today costs not very much, but it could be worth a try to get the old one to work. If it then after the cleaning doesn't work with those Verbatims - it's time to get a new one.

Hi and welcome to the forum, elite gm! Based on other posts it seems that some Lite-On writers have problems with these discs. It's not the best quality on those discs. You also have the latest firmware installed. Have you tried some other speeds - like 4x or 8x?

Hi and welcome to the forum, lilmunchkinme! 1. Install ImgBurn. 2. In Windows Explorer - right click on the .iso file you got from your newphew - and select 'Burn With ImgBurn'. 3. When the program starts - insert a blanc disc and select a write speed that should give a good result - like 8x in the drop down list that's labeled 'Write Speed'. 4. Start the burning. Hi and welcome to the forum, RMRAM2PM! Your firmware (the program that instructs how the writer should write the various media codes (Disc ID)) only supports 2x speed. I think that they are rated for a higher speed if you look at the box hey came in. So I get the feeling that the brand of media you are using is not supported in that firmware, instead it uses a very generic write approach and that seems not to work very good. I also looked for an updated version of the firmware, but I couldn't find any. I would suggest you try with another brand of media. Verbatims generally works best. Ritek is neither one of the brands with highest quality scores.

Guess he/she needs to install ASPI drivers first? Might be easier to select 'ASPI - WNASPI32.DLL" as he/she seems to have Nero installed already.

Hi and welcome to the forum, x-ecutioner! You selected max speed (16x) and the writer only performs the write at around 8x. Sounds as your writer doesn't really like that brand. Have you been able to burn other brands with that writer? There is also a later firmware version to install - ver 1.01. You'll find it here under 'Device Driver'. http://se.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp
