To avoid thread hijacking you need to have some posts before you can reply to other members thread.

One suggestion could be to post the log file.
-
You have tried 4x both times. Could try another write speed from the available ones, like 6x or 8x. (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x) If that also fails, then there is something wrong with the drive. Either replace it or try to clean it.
-
True. If it starts to crap out on good media, it's a sign of a dying burner. It could still be worth a try with a cleaning.
-
If you haven configured AWS - it's the same as MAX. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4249

I have the same drive and media and all the supported write speeds should work without issues. I would test to clean the laser head with a cleaning disc or something else. Can you also check on the package where the discs are made? Tawian/China/Singapore/Malaysia? Could be worth a try to enable it. That setting works with that drive.
-
Easiest is to get one of those cleaning disc they sell in shops. Another test could be to get some more quality branded discs. Using denatured Alcohol and that thing you use to clean ears with is also an option.
-
If you haven't used the burner for a long time it could be worth a try with a cleaning disc. The laser head might be dusty.
-
I doubt you can even start the burning with that disc in.
-
Perhaps try a lower write speed as 4-8x.

Update the firmware to the latest one - ver 1.11. The one you have now is five years old. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Plextor/PX-716A/files.html

A quick erase should take max some minutes. There is a DE04 version of your firmware. Now you have DE03. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Samsung/TS-L632D/files.html Tried with another RW disc?
-
It should say if there are errors or not on the hard disk. There is a guided help from Microsoft. Not sure if you are using XP or not. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265 Could you copy the .iso file to another place on the hard disk?
-
Go to the start menu and select the option Run... Then write cmd in that row and now you should see a black window type chkdsk to see if it finds anything. The reason you don't have issues burning other stuff is that they are located on healthy sectors. Try just to go in to Windows Explorer and copy that .iso file to another place on your hard disk. My feeling is that you will get reading errors during that operation also.
-
Looks as your C: disk has errors and the file you try to burn can't be read from the hard disk. Could be that the hard disk is near its death. Run Windows disk control checking program or chkdsk and see what can be done.
-
Mainly that the burner didn't liked the disc. I would try with another write speed than 8x. 4x and if that also fails, 6x. I have the same drive and it's a bit picky with that media code at certain write rates. Normally some of the available write speeds works.

Sounds as you clicked on an advertising banner for another program. That burnsetup.exe file has nothing to do with ImgBurn. The ImgBurn installation file is here: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download Click on one of the mirror rows.

It's a nice scanner so don't throw it in a dumpster.
