  1. The "allowed" speeds with your combination of firmware/media/burner are these: 2.4x will not work and it will most certainly use the closest to it - 4x. That leaves you with one left. If that speed also fail, get some better quality discs, like the ones you used before when it worked.
  2. I guess the old discs didn't had the media code (Disc ID: CMC MAG-D03-64)? So either your burner doesn't like that media code or it likes them at another speed. You already tried 8x so that leaves 4x and 6x left in equation.
  3. According to your first post you have used the same program, discs, burner and burning speed and now suddenly it doesn't work. So what x factor could have changed when nothing else is changed? The only thing I can relate to is that there might be some dust on the laser head.
  4. Tried the 4x and 6x speeds? If it worked before with the same media code/discs and speed, perhaps you need to use a cleaning disc.
  5. You have the latest chip set drivers for the motherboard installed?
  6. If it works on your friends PC, then yes.
  7. I guess your friend have another model of burner? 8x is what I would try with.
  8. I guess that was the 4x speed and you got a reading error during the verify part. Only thing is to try 6x and 8x. If that also fails, get better media or a drive that supports that media. Ritek is tricky to burn with older drives.
  9. Yes, the NEC tab is also for your Optiarc burner.
  10. If you used the non temporary setting in the book type setting, it stays to DVD-ROM until you flash the drive with a new firmware. If you want to be really sure. Set the book type to DVD-ROM after you updated the firmware to 1.09.
  11. Nothing. But you could have skipped the book type step as the model of burner you have sets it to DVD-ROM by default when you burn +R DL media. But no problem. After the update of firmware. Try to burn at the three available speeds, if the fist one should still give you errors. If all three speeds fails, then your burner simply don't support that media code very well.
  12. It hasn't been updated since ver 2.5.0.0 came out.
  13. So the Sony is the one you are using in the posted log. Optiarc = Sony + NEC I guess you went into the book type settings and set DVD +R DL to DVD-ROM? You shouldn't needed that extra step as Optiarcs book type that media by default.
  14. So in Device Manager there is only one burner - the Sony? Or you can see both two?
  15. Assuming that the 4 later ones are some type of virtual drives? The Sony drive - is that a burner? If so, can you see it in Windows Device Manager? The speed 4x is the lowest you can use. If you select 2.4x it will use 4x. 6x and 8x are also possible to use.
  16. There is a later firmware to install. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Optiarc/AD-5200A/files.html The slowest speed you can burn with is 4x on that media.
  17. You could use SIW to see what chip set drivers there is in your computer. http://www.gtopala.com/ Then in the main menu Hardware -> Motherboard
  18. 118 and 115 are PATA drives. Sure you don't mean 215 and 218?
  19. When you inserted the 118 and 115, You checked the the jumper back on the drive was set right? (Master/Slave/Cable Select).
  20. Sound as it could be an issue with the motherboards chipset drivers. You have the latest ones installed?
  21. That log you posted is not from a burn. Look at the old logs: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  22. Nero is innocent. You need to uninstall the driver. The Daemon uninstaller don't remove that driver. http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads Run the installer in that webpage and select uninstall.
  23. If you insert the cd and use the read mode. Can it read the disc info in the right window then? If so, post that info.
  24. The first log shows that the lowest speed your burner supports with that media is 16x. The cheap ones are supported with the lowest speed 4x. The available speeds are in the (Speeds: xxxxxx). If you select a speed that is not supported, ImgBurn will select the one that is closest to your choice.
  25. Perhaps change the income value on the Myspace page...
