  1. Hi and welcome to the forum, axe228! Same issue if you try with 6x or 8x write speed?
  2. Perhaps try with a cleaning disc.
  3. Hi and welcome to the forum, goodwinteam! There is a later firmware version. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Pioneer/DVR-111D/files.html
  4. Older drives might have a problem with OPC, that's why it's off by default. For your burner it should work to have it enabled. I have it enabled and my feelings (and to few test comparisons) is that it it gives a little bit better burns with it enabled.
  5. Might be that the verify error was not in the main movie and that's why you have encountered it. The log should say which part it was in.
  6. Might need to uninstall the controller, as described in the FAQ and then restart Windows and let it put it in DMA mode.
  7. If you do this. Start write mode and select the "tricky" burner as default. Main Menu -> Drive -> Capabilities Does it allow for -R/-RW media?
  8. Hi and welcome to the forum, Twoaces! Never heard that you need to compile you own disc. What was wrong with the Microsoft ones? There should be a log here: Main Menu -> Help -> ImgBurn Logs
  9. Hi and welcome to the forum, Hammer4488! The burner might be a pure +R/+RW drive and that might be an issue if you try to feed it with -R/-RW discs. What model is it?
  10. Not really 8x speed. Try to see if DMA is as they should. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=59&view=findpost&p=967 Also enable Verify until you know it works as it should.
  11. Hi and welcome to the forum, ju1ceb4g! Usually issues with that driver is that you can't get max reading speed. The issue you describe sounds not related to STPD. More like issues with firmware/media quality/burner quality.
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum, Reggie! Perhaps you need a double layer disc as you got a .mds file.
  13. Hi and welcome to the forum, bcblade ! Same issue with 6x or 8x write speed? Perhaps a cleaning disc would help.
  14. Happy Birthday!

  15. It is possible to convert the DVD files to NTSC but you will need to use another program as ImgBurn is a burning tool. It's a pretty time consuming task and the easy route is to get a DVD player that plays both TV systems.
  16. In what part of the world do you live? Yes, it could stop the playback if your stand alone player doesn't support the TV system.
  17. The 118/218 series are a new generation of drives and the first firmware version seems to lack good support for various media. Hopefully they fix it in future firmware versions. The performed write speed should have no effect on the playback as long as it burns ok. Only way to know how good quality it burns with is to use a scanning program like DVDInfoPro or OptiDriveControl.
  18. Hi and welcome to the forum, hasani! According to one log on the Net there should be a CD05 version. http://forums.vso-software.fr/write-error-need-help-plz-t10488.html Is it a HP computer? If so you need to go to the HP web page and find it there, as you need to fill in the computer model and other stuff. http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
  19. Hi and welcome to the forum, lostnawave! I can't find any later firmware for that drive. So your only option is to try the 6x and 8x speeds. If that also fails, switch to a disc brand that your drive likes better.
  20. The issue: Only thing you can do to improve speed is to get a 24x drive. The burning part will be faster, but the verify part will remain more or less the same. Not all discs support 24x writing. Perhaps you will gain around 15-20 seconds with such a drive compared to the one you have now.
  21. Hi and welcome to the forum, duffman4evir! The reading errors might be due to copy protections as they as you say happens on the same spot or just that the disc is dirty/scratched. According to the forum rules, we can't discuss copy protections on this board.
  22. Time and speeds looks right. Only issue in the log is that the clown is missing his thumbs.
  23. Once had a Pioneer that showed the same behaviour. It couldn't recognize the disc after it was burnt. You have the latest firmware. Might want to update ImgBurn to the latest version. I doubt that will help for your issue. Looks more as it's time for a new shiny drive.
  24. Hi and welcome to the forum, SloWie! There is a later firmware version. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Optiarc/AD-7173S/files.html 18x is perhaps to fast. Try also with some slower speeds. (Speeds: 2x; 4x; 6x; 8x; 12x; 16x; 18x)
