I built mine to overclock with a 3000 venice. It didn't disappoint me.

When you compare the initial release of the plextor yuden T03's in Europe to the present batches of T02 available here in the states, you find a decrease in quality, regardless of burn speed. Probably due to an increase in production. With TY DVD-R's, I see little if any change in the media from the original TYG01's. They were already as good as it gets. Now Verbatim seems to have improved the 16X DVD+R MCC 004's, over the previous 8X MCC 003's. Of course in Europe there have been a lot of issues with initial production from MBI in India.

On the subject of MODIFIED firmware, write strategies are the same with initial releases, later tweaks often introduce some overspeeding and cleanup.

I don't expect much out of my nec 3550, firmware is too immature Rearranging my computers and trying to optimize for testing, need a gigabit switch bad and a benq 1650 and a large horseshoe desk.

Things will change, given enough time, the "cream" will rise to the top. Coasters have a way of educating the "masses"!

Do I have to set for each burn? In particular I like to burn all dvd+r's as dvd-rom. All my burners support it.
-
not after they learn to scan or come to the newsgroups for help after producing inferior burns
-
The formula used still isn't good enough to just look at a QS and make that decision, even tho dvdinfo has gone a long way towards that goal, there is still a ways to go. That PIF total should have lowered the score to below 80. Reading these scans is still as much an art as a science.

I have matched cas 2 256 sticks(400) in my asus nf2 mobo. Damn mobile idles at 45C with premium high rpm high db HSfan. course running a 90$ cpu at 400 fsb and 2.2Ghz and 1.7Volts.

I am giving all this a 2nd go with some of the better media available here in the US that doesn't seem to make it to the other side of the pond. My first time doing this I had real issues with dvdinfopro, got a new version tonight.
-
the scan didn't correlate with any other data
-
that mcc 003 burn by the benq 1640 must be a fluke with the high POF, was it a bad disk or bad scan?
-
when your mom's not looking, switch sticks
-
was this the computer with the bad stick of ram?(grasping at straws) LOL
-
what's puzzling me was you got those verbs a while back and you have had that firmware for a while too?
-
bad cd, bad memory or just a wrong setting in bios
-
time for a clean install, load windows xp sp2 and then go into device manager and only deal with yellow exclaimation marks That's what I did! there is one other option, disconnect the slave and reflash as standalone master in safe mode try option 2 first, it's easier!

your nero ifo report says otherwise
-
roll back the ide driver to the default xp sp2 one I have the deluxe model of that asus mobo and the driver from asus is old and buggy. Some of my 12 x burns took 15 minutes??? Course I had a bad sil 3112 driver on top of that.

I just burned a disk to duplicate, a 4.4g iso, same media, same drive/firmware, same 8x log says avg (6.1) max (8.3) was your iso a lot smaller?
