Swapped the drive over to the sumvision combo usb/firewire pl3507 still using usb2 though, ISO stored on a Sata hd used the same ISO as first post and burnt it slightly faster in this enclosure, think 11 sec's faster

It's in the sumvision USB2 only one at the minute. You sure the combo one will not do 18x , I will swap it over later and try. The nec will not work with dvdinfopro and seems difficult with cd/dvd/speed as a side note, that may be down to the firmware i have in nec though.

It would fail. (just did not screen capture at that point) This drive cannot set book type on DVD + R SL (with nec original firmware) For DVD+R DL it Auto book types to DVD-ROM This was not acceptable to me, the screen shot was to demonstrate wtf at having 500 changes available which i have never seen before, which lead to the scans etc for info on drive. I flashed it about 2 Min's after installing it, on that note anyone else with this drive wishing to flash, boot into safe mode in xp to flash, also if connected via IDE knock drive into pio mode, if not either of these can cause a firmware checksum error, I flashed mine whilst in external via USB2 in safe mode.

It's easy enough, my son and daughter can use it, even my 6 yr old nephew can use it. As L_UK said it's not a program to copy DVDs it only writes ISO Images, well it can build them too and a few other tricks, just not decrypt.

you could have wrote that shorter by saying Faulty Or a duff batch of ty disc's that your 1st plex hates. Only you will know in time if you buy some more ty .

And yet i have the liteon version 160P6S and its very good, not one failed burn from over 400+ disc's this assumes you are correct in saying your drive is SONY DW-Q120A..
