Pioneer 111 in usb2 only pl2506/2507 is or rather seems fine (as semaphore timeout error can strike at anytime even after 12 successful burns) I am confident though it will not appear (FLW) I know. In the sumvision combo pl3507 the pioneer 111 would not even get to leadin before S T and killing 4 tygo3 off the trot. Tried it back in 3 different pl3507 caddys and S T errors within seconds. This is using SPTI errors will stop whilst using WNASPI32.DLL as I/O (well it did last time with 109) cannot be bothered to take apart enclosure again to try with 111 as it's ok now in pl2506/2507 enclosure. Guess it's staying in the usb2 only caddy for the time being, at least they are good for something. 1st sign of this error on pl2506/2507 usb2 only caddy 111 will end up in a comp ATA mode.

Benq 1650 worked no problems in same enclosure, now testing 111 in usb2 only pl2506/pl2507.

L_UK you ever used you pioneer 111 in the sumvision combo. Just got 111 from svp and it does not like the sumvision, semaphore timeout errors. Will be trying the 111 in another comp a bit later to see if it's just faulty. Strange thing is though my pioneer 109 in any 3 enclosure's chucked out hundreds of these errors, granted 1st caddy's chipset was ali revision a, other 2 are sumvision pl3507/PMC and the one i tried last night pl3507 /EON. Will also try 111 in one of the other sumvision combo's that have PMC as thats only difference the 1 i tried it in is EON flash. Looking thru forum now at drives / media section to see if you, lfc, corny ever had one on USB. The 109 even did this afterwards in ATA mode which is why i flashed it to be a fast reader only as that's all it ended up being good for. The pioneer 111 will have to go back if this is the same and i think i'll just get credit note, then buy the liteon 18x you have or maybe the 20 if it based on same chip. Tested the 111 ATA mode, seems OK only wrote 1 disc though, now trying benq1650 into enclosure 111 was using and benq behaves in there. Putting pioneer 111 into the USB2 only enclosure i have to see if that stops semaphore timeout errors, if it does not then i would have to say that my pioneer drives hate being in any of my various pl2507/ali M5621/ pl3507 enclosures and i will just give up trying to find chipset it gets on with. dvdinfopro can do it, nero burning rom / cancel wizard then click on extra's / save tracks, will do it.

Which is why others have asked you for the log file so they can see the media code those disc's have or have faked. Ps2 is as already mentioned very picky with media, having a crap laser does not help it either. which way is the ps2 loading thru swap magic or dedicated chip ? If swap magic that may be your problem and not the disc, try zoneloader if so. Or try some other media, preferably good like suggested taiyo yuden or verb mcc

sorry but those disc's are not very good, if you try using verbatim dl+ order code 43562 you should see those errors go. If you do get verbs make sure your writers firmware is up to date, If you still get errors then, it may be down to a faulty writer.

Or stick it in the oven and 20 minutes later, plastic fantastic. Or if you got a Mac Toast It.

What about the firewire on ya 975 board, you used it with your sumvision/ how you get on ? and is the onboard firewire you have 1394 Via ?

Gonna test the newlink Sata enclosure I will be getting on Monday from Svp with my M2N32-SLI Deluxe which has an external sata port ) i think or rather hope) was built at same time as my msi 975x and e6600 not used it other than to install windows about 6 months ago, been sitting gathering dust in my bedroom. Annoyingly i forgot to add a couple of external sata ports to my svp order, then i could have used one on my msi. This should be the ideal solution, If I decide to buy a 20x dvd writer, you have yours already L_UK ? (liteon)
