when you plug it into computer if your using XP it will start to search for drivers pop cd in and let it go. Then install the software by honestech. Once loaded and it has found audio device etc , you will need to buy if you do not have one, a scart to RCA scart one end and 3 coloured pins the other Yellow-this is composite video, White and Red are Audio L/R scart goes to your VCR or external device pins go to back of LG in the corresponding coloured pins Then on the software side click on the wizaard and folow instructions. IF your using 98 or me the setup of drivers maybe different, you will need the CD for sure in 98 or ME

scan the hard drive for errors you have the ISO your verifying against, just tick top box to auto fix file folder errors, just to rule it out, turn off compression on the hard drive you have iso on as well if your using ntfs and compression. or try a different disc maybe a -R write once

you should maybe as well check all the hard drives you have connected for errors, just tick top box though. also if you still get nowhere whatever the other dvd rom showing as scsi you have is, unplug the cable and power cable and try again

open up the one your benq is connected to and advanced settings tab and look for udma 2 or udma 4 then uninstall that controller reboot computer and let windows pick it up again. have you recently been in the Bios as well, maybe you changed something in there, look for IDE section and see if there is an option to scan or refresh devices

Might be me but seems you have both hard drives set to master. I must be reading it wrong which motherboard is it ? (actually i looked again its a dell) Can you verify how you have your hard drives and writers connected. also you using an add in IDE pci card ?

You could try loads of dual layer and when they don't work cost you more than getting ones that do work AKA Verbatim. For the 2nd question I am afraid you will have to google an alternative to DD

how have you got the drives connected as it would appear you have no controller in at all try nero info tool and configuration see what it says ftp://ftp6.nero.com/tools/InfoTool.zip which operating system are you using open up device manager and scan for new hardware
