i give up with the first pack of 20 us ones, as straight after burned a us one with 1650 with bcic firmware and down to 78% quality , will just burn them with my liteon 1635s and be done with it not even going to bother scanning them anymore, may have better luck with the remaining unopened us verbs, whatever. got plenty of UK verbs now anyways, the us ones i have well first pack look substandard compared to UK ones, build quality wise like the glue in middle ring is smeared etc, UK ones are crystal clear and look better quality. Out of my control they are what they are, like i said remaining 40 maybe better. The scan has finished now and quality rating went down further to 73% burnt on 1650 BCIC and scanned on same drive. LOL, it will still work so i can live with it.

i already have all t he latest firmwares for loads of drives, i collect them, never know when you will need them.

gonna burn one of my UK verbs and have just flashed benq to BCIC to see any different, then set fire to all the benq's i have and chant

I would see some benefit of HD as HD tv/monitor i have is only any good when an hd source is passed to it, tft is pretty poor under composite/ scart/ tuner / absolutely stunning under high def e.g xbox(ntsc) and xbox 360 and no doubt the hd dvd player addon for 360, if only I could get hold of one at a reasonable price.

Also your bound to have a benq 1650, can i ask which firmware you have in it, or the one you think is more suited to dual layer verbs the ones i have just had delivered all have BCDC, seems a few people say this is the best of the bunch, however using qscan just showed me that the US verbs i have from first 20 pack are not suitable to burn at 2.4X lol.

Don't think i have used firewire for anything, actually the price difference between the 2 is not that great so from now on will buy the combo drive enclosure. Happy enough with the usb2 version i have just wanted util to flash and a flash file, will have to dig out computer from loft that has the files on that i need. thanks

I could only decided when i have access to both formats, trying hard to get hold of an hd dvd player ad-don for xbox 360 UK out of stock and i wanted it asap as it comes with king kong Hd and remote for limited period only. Ebay sellers have some but want like 180 when they are only 129.99 actually can get one for 123.99 just not at the minute. What i would like is the lg dual format (sound familiar) burner.
