  1. If after clicking remove you do not get some further options like remove the following components then you will need to manually do it.

open device manager , then goto nvidia nforce serial ata and right click on it choose properties then click update driver choose the non auto search and click enable show compatible hardware then choose the ms driver

    reboot

Or pay someone to reinstall xp clean and making sure they do not install nfarce drivers or do it yourself and also make sure if you do have to get someone in to install xp that they manage to get your writer to work before paying them.

  2. no you need to to uninstall the driver you installed for nforce chipset (not the chipset bit though only the storage driver you need to remove) , you can normally run chipset installation package again and tell it to remove the storage driver.

you should also get rid of VSO patin couffin if after removing nvidia ide/storage driver you still get the same errors.

look in FAQ on here and also google on how to remove nvidia ide drivers

  3. Follow LG's advice from STEP 2

You only need step 1 if you get a failure whilst trying to update as in checksum error or any other error message lg firmware updater might be able to throw up if it fails.

which is the way L_UK would do it as well. I assume.

Tray closed as well as there being no disc in tray and do not power off/restart untill advised etc

  4. Tools -> Settings -> Write -> Write Type.

where am I to look for this: Tools > Settings > Write > Write Type.

    Thank you so very much.

    I have just completed 3 dvd's NON-COASTERS,,,,

the direction that the guide showed me was helpful.... but do we really need to Verify?

"YES" or you will eventually end up with a disc you thought wrote OK because it finished without error only to find some months later when you need to get the data back from that disc that you end up with read errors and you cannot retrieve the data you treasure.

  5. My first project with ImgBurn was a COMPLETE SUCCESS!! :w00t: And it only took 52 minutes to burn a two-hour movie!

Thanks to all who gave answers and advice. The DVD drive was successfully flashed, too!

Can you post the log of that burn ?

We can then maybe get your burning time down to 8 minutes or at least 16 minutes if your writer is 4x capable.

Edit I looked back at your early posts you have a sony dru 720a so you should be able to burn your projects faster providing you have 8x and above disc's.
