  1. check your booktype settings, what make of drive is it ? liteon oem or ?

edit a quick google search and LG the N/A was a little giveaway for Nec - LG etc but still thought liteon from version and firmware naming, check where your verbs are made as well if India maybe your previous ones were made in Singapore.

The hp one seems to be a liteon though I'm confused dot com.

    try liteon booktype anyways

  2. details? logs?

You're not giving us much to go on!

    Typical Bill Gates

look at how you're putting files on, as in inside a folder or not. Also if your working with say 10-20 mp3 files make sure roxio is not just converting them to wav and that your car stereo can actually play mp3 files and not just Audio CD

  3. You might be right but I doubt it cos when I have issues like that with firewire it's not on every burn where it does not work just a lot of them and when it works with other software it eventually does not work with that software as well.

Maybe do not use service pack 3 as that might have an issue. or maybe edit use sp1 then 2 see if it makes a difference.

Its down to chipset in enclosure/driver/dvd writer conflicts or if your texas inst firewire or maybe via as the one i had stinks

  4. Buy a new enclosure , try enclosure on another computer as driver corruption can do it as well. No good just keep saying it works with other software. If that is 100% true then use those, not in my instance or lots of other users examples either and blaming one piece of software usually is arrogance on behalf of user (not that I am saying that about you just stating the facts as I see them)

try pl2507 enclosure with pioneer products

  5. Thats a not exactly the same error as the original poster, yours is purely semaphore timeout error,

try using wnaspi32.dll as ~IO interface instead of SPTI try using the 1394 on the enclosure instead of USB. see if you can update the chipset in enclosure from prolific site but don't hold your breath for being able to fix this. I have to tell you this is not an ImgBurn error but a chipset/IO interface error. you may still see it in NERO yet as it is very very very very random.

Using Wnaspi32 might get rid of it full stop and that may happen NERO uses Wnaspi32 as its IO but you still can get semaphore timeout error using Wnaspi32 but it has stopped STE on many of my chipsets/enclosures. So switch to wnaspi32 in ImgBurn I/O settings

actually I have re read your post and you said you already tried 1394 , you will have to see if a firmware update to enclosure chipset will fix it, not ImgBurn causing this problem though cannot say why Nero works on 1394 maybe fluke and random or down to wnaspi32 (sure I tried wnaspi32 as IO when my 1394 was acting odd but did not make any difference)

  6. Wake up Zweistein, not dreaming, not dreaming, not dreaming, not whaat... DAMN IT I was dreaming, dam you reality.

and remember to take your pills for memory loss

For Example to add a user/3rd-party written decrypting

algorithmen (plugin), which allows to make backup-copies

of DVDs/CDs - similar to DVDDecrypter in the past.

    sometime later

And why I shouldn't make such a suggestion? An implementation of an API/Plugin

feature has _NOTHING_ to do with the implementation of a decrypting feature...

  7. 1 error is bad so replace memory, take 1 out test again I like to start with dimm 4 and work back or stop 128 bit (dual channel) then test

If you have a bios that givess ECC and memory does not support it make sure ECC is disabled. 1 of my asus boards had ECC on at default making memory in use fail (took ages to figure it out)

  8. rofl thanks for the info, but i still have to change the IDE cable even though its run on SATA?

Yeah you have to change the "CABLE" be that IDE or SATA

You also have to check your bios to see how you have SATA set to handle ATAPI devices.

Also ditch chipset driver for storage and use standard Ms one.

Also stay away from latest Asus optical's they are not very good.

    :whistling:

  9. you have to use DVD +R DL not -R DL

    I 10:01:02 User Specified L0 Data Zone Capacity: 1,913,760
E 10:01:20 Cannot set the layer break position when burning DVD-R DL media.
    E 10:01:20 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:00:18

That is the problem with - R DL not being able to set layerbreak. Get some MKM-001-00 Made in Singapore Verbatims +R DL and burn @ 2.4x using a burner that will booktype them to DVD-ROM
