I have one of those drives They are old so no good buying recent media for them look for some 4x media also try 8x media Either way try burning everything @4x. Try burning one of your CMC @ 4X see what happens.

You could also try some newer media as ritek G04 are not the newest and that pioneer drive will no really be expecting to see that media in use. Try some newer TYG02 or MCC 02RG02

You could just go and buy the same brand / model number you had if its still available. Most cheap DVD players will play mp3 from DVD all of mine do. Depends where you live as to what brands may be available
