So dam confusing Intel. The ultra ata was replaced by intel accelerator look at this page it shows which chipset drivers for ATA http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-015001.htm try this http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scripts-df...?ProductID=2101

To maximise success, make sure you tick complete backup, set the book type to DVD-ROM if your drive allows it Pioneer 111,112,115 auto do this, Liteon drives select from book icon in ImgBurn and make sure you use Verbatim made in Singapore DL+ @2.4x @4X on samsungs latest writers.

next time you go to install your operating system use the latest drivers so install XP then install the chipset drivers in your case the inf from Intel or maybe do a test from the mobo cd and install everything after say making a clean ghost image using ghost2003 just after XP goes in with no drivers other than what went in with windows then you can play around as much as you like with drivers and find the combo that works as intended. If you mess up install ghost image in less than 2 minutes and try again 800 series Unless I misunderstand yours is an 875 chipset and to me that means 800 series but who knows with Intel

You bought it I pressume to read xbox 360 games as thats one of the drives that can be flashed to do so. It cannot write disc's though.

just be thankful they are not still £300 a pop and most are around £20 or just under so not the end of the world especially if you can return it or even open it up and free eye surgery.
-
which motherboard is it again, can you get everest and run a report
-
Therefore the ones I upped are the right ones :phew I did not bother listing their website as its so slooooooooooow and the only bios you can download is 10.4 meg as its classed as an archived mobo. here is the flash util with instructions http://rapidshare.com/files/88391549/Awdflash.rar If you ram is faulty under proper testing with memtest+ and advanced long tests with a few runs then your gonna have to replace your memory or try and updated bios to see if the updated bios resolves any issues your mobo may have with the ram you have. Faulty memory after all is broken.
-
his bios is one of the intial ones from 2003 here is a one from 2005 but you will need to hunt out your mobo cd and find the flash utility, unless its built into the mobo you have . I see reference to something in readme about Autoflash V8.30 this is just the bios from 2005 in first link http://rapidshare.com/files/88353058/9PJL_2005.rar And this is all the bios files from chaintech site I downloaded earlier @2k a sec, if someone else wants to take a gander at them to verify correct board etc. All bios files for that mobo http://rapidshare.com/files/88354040/9PJLall.rar

I must have missed the bit where he listed cpu temp in everest you should update bios I am busy downloading all the bios released for your board but @less than 2k a second on a 10 meg file It won't be here till next Tuesday actually 1 hour 4 minutes time
-
do you know which version you have is it 1 or 2 it may be etched onto the board or a sticker or even on the box and my god chaintech site is worse than dial u p
-
its reading it wrong for sure as its saying 127C in his screenshot from speedfan
-
What cpu is it as 127 seems rather hot and how its still working at that temp is ? [edit]actually I will read thread again as you may have listed it, if not list your motherboard and cpu etc
-
Thats UDMA 5 so something is a miss if it's showing up as UDMA 2 which is ATA 33

I lay all mine flat, all my sons mates have theirs standing up, theirs have been for repair ours have not. [yet] Also sometimes when you go to start a game on 360 it informs you there is and update and will not let you play unless you take it. The user error bit E71 about switching off when one of the updates goes in before its fully completed can also be seen from updating / operating under normal circumstances eg no user error.
-
Cannot say 100% but you might have better luck if you can find an enclosure that has the prolific PL-2507 (2506) chipset in it, Like the sumvision USB2 only enclosures as my Pioneers do not give that error using that chipset, however the PL-3507 which is usb2/1394 chip and which should be better hates all my pioneer drives.
-
Good that you got it replaced without the dreaded sending it away crap. Lfc your son using it standing up or laid flat ?. Was there plenty of ventilation and nothing blocking Left/Right and Back side ? More curious about position . oh and btw Im sure that error is a user error, eg updating dashboard and stopping it or switching it off before its udpated. If it seems to happen again on new one try this before going back to shop Clear All Installed Game Updates and Console Cache Go to the system blade Select memory Press Y on the HD symbol Press X,X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X A message will appear saying: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?" Select Yes -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clear Any Failed system updates that cause the console to error. With the console off, press and hold the sync up button (the small white one) While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely. During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally [c xbs]

I was joking with the 78rpm thing but seriously if that is showing as anything less than udma 5 (I would think it should really be UDMA 6 (ATA 133) then you have issues somewhere. The hard drive is on an 80 wire yeah ?
-
There is only 1 (99.999%) consistent DVD+R DL media Verbatim [singapore] MKM-001-00 Anything else is hit and miss in any given combination and those samsung drives are a bit picky with even the best Verbatims wrote @ normal write speed.
-
you ain't got a time machine so how do you know the disc that burnt in Nero would equally not have burnt in ImgBurn and vice versa with the failed ones. Can you post a log file from failed ImgBurn writes Also post the Filter driver load order captured from clipboard from ImgBurn's tools/menu
-
[Q] How is it I have built/burnt hundreds of DL media on 11+ computers using over 30 dvd writers and never come across this scenario. Whereby someone says ImgBurn fails and Nero works. [A] It's your hardware, lack of knowledge, ability to maintain and install a functional operating system and therefore you have a shitty, unclean corrupted operating system.
-
what kind of hard drive you got in thats showing udma2, Is it one of those older 78rpm ones
-
Image writing OK, failed verification [Solved]
