depending on your drive make model etc, you may be able to set the Eeprom to remember the book type setting. Therefore in ImgBurn choose one of the Eeprom settings

Also just in case your using USB external drive make sure the port is a usb2 high speed.

I maybe misreading all this but It seems you could not burn DL due to poor media, you then managed to burn 1 Verbatim without error, then you switched back to using crappy media and got errors. I stand corrected 2 verbatim 1 worked 100% the other bombed out on you apparently. Buy yourself a new computer or get someone in and pay them to sort it out.

The above is nonsense Whoever wrote that guide needs a kicking It needs DVD-ROM for new setting. (not DVD+R DL) Also if you have .DVD file that will have the layer break info in to so manual entering of layerbreak in ImgBurn is not needed

Are you for real telling the author of the program he does not know what his program can and can't do. The fact that your disc failed to copy indicates it can't do what you thought it could. Hence the reason for you asking why it failed. If you don't like the answer you got and it was the correct answer given what can you do about it but learn instead of the dick's response you gave.

I presume you mean Nero Nero lies it says writing at 24 etc but it's not add a couple of registry entries to Nero 6 / 7 and you see the true write speed. Nero 8 maybe [ Nero 7] has a tick box to do this now truespeed.rar

The disc's that the xbox has played in the past, did you burn them yourself ? if so did you use the same burner ? You need to be setting booktype to DVD-ROM especially if the xbox you have uses a Samsung Rom Drive. post a log of the last burnt disc I am not sure if the original xbox rom drives support seamless playback either.

Ive got a few Lg drives, they are ok, but are a little slow for my liking. However there are a lot more burners out there worse than the LG brand. And LG have got a good drive with the Br-Hd-dvd rom combo.

Only Use DUAL LAYER + as you cannot set correct laybreak on -R DL You got half the combination right by using Verbatim just not the -R DL ones
