You would think by now the ide / 2 / usb chipset manufacturers would be able to resolve this, does not help when they do not include a flash to go with the chipset. If you have to keep it in the enclosure, try using Wnaspi32 as the I/O as a last resort My Pio 111,112,115 hate the PL-3507 chipset but is OK using the PL-2507

And...what would be a 'proper manner'?

That clamwin might very well be a good program, apart from you have to manually scan archive file before extraction and other files too. I would also be very wary of an anti virus that is open source, easy to see how it's supposed to do stuff and then build virus that circumvents. IMO I would be staying clear.

Now that was a computer. I had 23 of them Not all at same time though, they were replacements as they could just not stand up to 18hours of use a day for month after month. I lived on my computer chair the c64 cost me £399 or £299 at the time and a colour 14" portable £400-600 :You can get 14"" for £40 now I liked the music on c64 by Rob Hubbard or was it Ron, and James Galways relative on oceans games I think. I loved the demo scene on that comp as well and wrote a couple of demos myself using 6502, I might see if they are on the internet anywhere as I dunno if i have any of them on either cassette or 5.25 disc

local networks speeds as opposed to internet speeds

can't see orb being able to stream ISO images. I use it and I would not even attempt to stream an iso as I know it will not be supported vlc mounts it first i assume, I also assume orb and many other media streaming capable players will not be able to do it. I stream to my n95 with orb internally and a few other media servers I have Also orb goes out to internet and then comes back to local, I prefer http://www.tversity.com/download/ as it streams to local from local (as in internal network)

Image writing OK, failed verification [Solved]
dontasciime replied to roblov's topic in ImgBurn Support
or buy a new dvd writer -
defrag your hard drive check it for errors and get some other media, try and get some older media that is capable of 4x burning, especially as I notice it is Wii ISO your trying to burn. Or maybe think about buying a new DVD writer as that writer must be getting on now. you could try a burn at 6x and see what happens

if jys3 does not list your media then jys2 will not either It will still more than likely be more beneficial to update as updates as well as adding media add better support for the listed media and general hardware fixes. -
I see you mention latest drivers. That would be the Hyperion drivers I have uploaded latest pm800 and latest hyperion drivers (jan 2008) Its hard to say from here when user says they have done what they are supposed to have done then it usually turns out they have not (sorry if you have and understand more than the avg user) but if you have followed the correct procedure it's starting to look like your IDE is fried on board. you could try swapping over the hardware to the secondary to see if that fixes it, other than that your hard drive / the ide cables are broken. Or you do not have the correct drivers/ etc anyways latest msi 4 in 1 drivers http://rapidshare.com/files/86239791/VIA4in1_MB.7z and the via direct ones hyperion http://rapidshare.com/files/86243027/via_h...ionpro_v515a.7z you might want to see if there is a bios update for your motherboard just so it's clear install XP Clean and a format once installation is complete, first thing to install is chipset drivers then gfx card drivers then you can test to see what mode hd is in
-
when you say install, do you mean your formatted and then installed XP or do you mean you somehow downgraded to xp thru vista. Which motherboard do you have ?
-
yes ricoh disc's
-
you will still have to have delete the controller in windows device manager for it to be picked back up after restart, after changing the cable.
-
google as it's not something ImgBurn can do without you using google first
-
change the IDE cable make sure it's another 80 wire one try not to have the hard drive and the writer on the same cable as well If the hard drive is partitioned you will have to scan for errors on those as well
-
Also check the hard drive for errors as that can knock drive back into PIO mode. UDMA In bios is a good place to start as mentioned above

How to burn a format that will play on my DVD player
dontasciime replied to mpauls's topic in ImgBurn Support
When you say you used google, it depends what you searched for. If you included ImgBurn in the search the results will be tainted. Using vcd to dvd as search term http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=convert+v...tart=0&sa=N -
You really should only be using verbatim, if those fail on the backups you make at home then its time to reinstall op, then buy a new computer if it's still the same using standard MS drivers, look at all hardware change IDE cables Twice with known working cables. You cannot try and figure out whats going wrong when your using SHITE media, You , Us will be on forever and a day until you try on decent backups using Verbatim MKM 2.4x and games not downloaded from the net.

buy online then
