  1. you should also plug your laptop into mains using your adapter whilst updating instead of using battery
  2. Have a look on rpc1.org and check to see if the 1.03 firmware is for your drive. Seems to be (have a search on google and see what other users of that drive say) http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?cate...p;manufactor=18 If it is then maybe update your firmware to 1.03 and see if that helps. Those drives are pretty poor and troublesome as seems to be the complete range of matshita drives
  3. maybe also trying checking the hard drive where the ISO is stored for errors and defrag it and maybe try a different usb port or check to see if there are any other programs accessing hard drive at time of burn if so stop them using the hard drive
  4. B4 my time : And It's not all beer and loose women you know. There is a lot of hard work involved, writing 0,1's on DVD with marker pen is exhausting. Seriously though give them a break. I think they did a pretty good job.
  5. Yeah. Spill the beans I think It's pretty Obvious the Christmas spirit has not arrived here yet. Hard to get into the Christmas spirit when the cabinet is locked.
  6. All I got last year was a Tree. NTOS lace mince pies with warfarin
  7. update the drives firmware
  8. What case ? You going on Holdiay. Bon Voyage
  9. Maybe but who would buy laptop without one. It also depends on which burner you get. They are a lot cheaper now to replace than they used to be but It would be better if they stuck in a drive that was as consistent as some of the external drives.
  10. Does not seem much movement from Samsung about a firmware update to 202H as I emailed them told them about the finalise not being as good as it should , As the other 202 have had a firmware update I thought they might be forthcoming with a beta to try but insisted there was no problem with my drive LOL. I replied and told them they obviously have not tried to burn with some of their newer writers and merely burning 1 disc would not show up any errors. Still waiting for a response from them again. Have not checked for a few days to see if SB01 has been released for 202H [edited because I am stupid] I Own the H version.
  11. you will get a more accurate result using a drive that does jitter like the benq 1650/ 55
  12. Sorry I assumed XP You posted a log as well
  13. Normally that would be the case or someone has been messing on with file types opens with. you could also try right clicking on CD drive in question choose properties then autoplay TAB and click restore defaults, if that option is greyed out you will have to tick "select an action to perform" first. what do your dvd and cd one say when you click on advanced
  14. yes I compressed it with 7zip , extract it and it will magically turn back into Size: 4.31 MB (4,520,840 bytes) Size on disk: 4.31 MB (4,521,984 bytes)
  15. check for virus spyware etc. Then reinstall operating system sorry mate if i was sitting infront of your computer I could better solve it.
  16. scan you hard drive for errors Dunno what your doing to have it show up diff sizes each time but if you building an image instead of burning that might explain it
  17. which mode are you in try just right clicking on .dvd and choose burn with ImgBurn (with Imgburn closed)
  18. you would have to use a dual layer disc. ImgBurn is a burning application select the ISO or NRG and burn. Providing you use good media and there is no copy protection on the image you burn your disc should work, albeit games are usually protected from running from backups depending on the game and its age etc
  19. download worked for me I have uploaded it to my rapidshare account if you wanna download it from there Choose free user unless you have an account at rapidshare and wait for the time it says and enter 3digit letters then download http://rapidshare.com/files/74716597/dvd300n_300.7z
  20. Actually If I had seen bootable in logfile would have just typed below instead of above There are lots of bootable CD/DVD that windows cannot view. put CD/DVD in drive boot computer with bios set to boot first from CD/DVD or press the magic key assigned by your bios to be select boot device , could be ESC key F11 , F2 or F8
  21. Uninstall ImgBurn and reinstall it to see if that wipes out a potential registry entry that has marked it as not valid. If you have recently messed on with .ico or file types option eg opens with etc, from folder options/ tools / file types you may need to remember what you did and restore defaults in windows. Once you install ImgBurn again see if that fixes it if not goto settings in ImgBurn and General Tab and tick make ImgBurn default App and select all file extensions OK it and close reboot (reboot not really needed) reopen ImgBurn or try what you have been trying to do. I assume you have scanned your computer for viruses and get hold of spybot search and destroy and update it then scan for spyware/mal/adaware etc
  22. just cos you can burn a CD does not mean you can burn a DVD in the same way just cos you cannot burn a DVD does not mean it cannot read DVDs try burning mcc at their rated speed of 8x change the ide cable if your having issues with DMA or at least uninstall the IDE controller from device manager oh and get a cd cleaner and run it thru the writer after appyling the cleaning fluid to only one of the brushes on cd cleaner post the filter driver load order from tools menu
