Removing from Windows Context Menus
Shamus_McFartfinger replied to ItsNannerpuss's topic in ImgBurn Support
Something which you didn?t clarify. The question perhaps could have been, ?Is there a setting within ImgBurn that can add/remove "Burn using ImgBurn" to context menus? I know it can be changed natively within Windows.? First:- A filetype isn?t a context menu which is what you originally asked about. ImgBurn can?t change a filetype. All it can do is associate with it, hence, my original post. Such as? All of us, the author most of all, are willing to help you but do you reckon you can give us some information as none of us enjoy guessing games. What applications? URLs etc? How can anything possibly be ?fixed? if you ask vague questions and give subtle hints about how great other software is without providing examples of it? How would you fix it? What would you like to see? Ignore the crap above. You have the authors? attention. This is your chance to have something implemented if you can sell it. BTW, the answer is No. You can?t remove ImgBurn from the context menu from within ImgBurn. -
Or onboard RAID controllers. Makes no difference either way given the amount of problems we?ve seen over the years with optical drives plugged into non-IDE/non-scsi controllers. Putting a crappy CD/DVD reader/burner on a controller that?s ATA133 seems a bit pointless.

Removing from Windows Context Menus
Shamus_McFartfinger replied to ItsNannerpuss's topic in ImgBurn Support
It should be enough but it?s obviously not working. Besides, the above thingy just removes the option from the context menu while still allowing ImgBurn to be re-associated. Nice and neat and all that. -
Removing from Windows Context Menus

You don?t remove the filetype - you edit it. eg.. Open Tools/Filetypes Highlight filetype (eg ISO image) and hit RESTORE Click ADVANCED Highlight ?Burn With ImgBurn" in the ACTIONS window Select DELETE Finished. -
He/she is running optical drives on what looks to be a RAID card or similar. I can?t imagine how much fun that would be.

G?day Dave. The easiest thing I can think of if your file associations are playing up is to delete the filetype altogether rather than trying to re-associate it with another program. So.. Delete filetype Reboot Re-create filetype Re-associate newly created filetype with program file (your icons may not appear until rebooting yet again.) Good luck.

Pioneers for me. As Polo said above, there?s no fooking around with the booktype.

That makes 2 of us. Google turned this up. http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=DAA

Honestly? I don?t see the point even though (from a non-programmers point of view) it would be do-able by grabbing the info from the inserted media and greying out non-supported speeds. Not much would be gained for alot of work and it, in my opinion, would be just something else to go pear shaped. Besides, there?s not much point buying hardware and media capable of burning at 12x or 16x and throttling it to 4x. Not these days. In a nutshell, if you have a decent drive with good firmware and good quality media, burning at high speed isn?t a problem.
-
It?s not just the drive. The media tells the drive what speeds it supports. Use different media and I?m sure you?ll see a variation in supported speeds. e.g. If you placed some Ritek G04s in your drive, supported speeds would likely be 1x , 2x and 4x.

There?s one in Germany by the name of ?Wank?. Makes ya wonder what they were thinking of at the time. <As Shamus? mind sinks even deeper into the gutter he thinks he should pull out while he?s still got a firm grasp on the topic at hand.>

Check it out. How gullible are some people? http://millionaires24.com/about.html

Why bother? A quick look at the log being written to the bottom window will tell you if it?s writing or verifying.

http://www.cbc.ca/cp/world/060411/w041174.html Laundry betrays reputed No. 1 Mafia boss in Sicily, ending 43-year manhunt 18:42:39 EDT Apr 11, 2006 LUCA BRUNO AND FRANCES D?EMILIO PALERMO, Sicily (AP) - In the end, Italy's No. 1 fugitive and reputed Mafia "boss of bosses" was done in not by an informer or a rival gangster, but by clean laundry. Police tracked the package of clothes to a farmhouse where Bernardo (The Tractor) Provenzano was hiding and closed in when they saw his hand reach through the doorway to take it Tuesday. The capture came in the countryside outside Provenzano's power base, Corleone, the town that inspired the family name in The Godfather. For more than 40 years, he had practically thumbed his nose at authorities. He counted on Sicilians' centuries-old mistrust of the state to help him on the run, sleeping in islanders' homes, having his children born at local hospitals, even sending the public health care system a bill for prostate treatment abroad under a false name. Provenzano, 73, had escaped capture so often since going into hiding in 1963 that he earned a place in the Italian imagination as The Phantom of Corleone. He got his nickname The Tractor for the determination he displayed in a mob career that began as a hitman. He is believed to have taken over leadership of the Sicilian Mafia following the 1993 arrest of former boss Salvatore (Toto) Riina. During his years on the run, Provenzano was convicted in absentia and given life sentences for more than a dozen murders of mobsters and investigators. "Bastard! Murderer!" a crowd shouted at Provenzano as black-hooded policemen took him out of a sedan and rushed him into the courtyard of a police building in Palermo after driving him from the countryside. Wearing tinted glasses and a wind-breaker, the grey-haired Provenzano held up his handcuffed hands as he was hustled away but made no audible comment. Investigators described an extensive operation to track down the mobster. They said cameras that can see up to almost two kilometres were trained on suspected accomplices as well as the Corleone home where Provenzano's wife and children live. A few days ago, police noticed a package leave the wife's house, then get delivered by car to a series of other homes. On Tuesday morning, the package left Corleone and was driven to the farmhouse where Provenzano was found staying with a shepherd who doubled as a housekeeper. "This morning he reached out with a hand to grab the package and that's when we decided to move in," said Nicola Cavaliere, a top police official in Rome. Italy's national anti-Mafia prosecutor, Piero Grasso, told reporters in Rome that Provenzano was "impassive" and "didn't say a word" when arrested, but later acknowledged his identity. The last photos that investigators had of the mobster showed him as a young man, but police gave the fugitive a "new face" last year, issuing a composite picture drawn with help from a Mafia turncoat in 2001 that depicted him with white hair and hollow cheeks. That effort also was helped by descriptions from personnel at a clinic in Marseilles, France, where investigators say Provenzano sought treatment for a prostate tumour two years ago. Turncoats had told investigators that Provenzano slept in different farmhouses every few nights across Sicily, an island where organized crime has held sway for decades. He allegedly gave orders with written notes, not trusting cellphone conversations for fear of being monitored by police. Grasso said investigators were studying notes found at the farmhouse, along with a typewriter Provenzano apparently used for writing them. After taking over the top leadership, Provenzano helped the Mafia spread its tentacles into the lucrative world of public works contracts in Sicily, turning the mob into more of a white-collar industry of illegal activity with less dependence on traditional operations like drug trafficking and extortion, investigators have said. During the years when Riina was the Mafia chieftain, murders bloodied Sicily. Mob rivals, police, prosecutors and their bodyguards, and sometimes bystanders, were cut down by bombings and drive-by shootings. Then the bomb assassinations in Sicily of Italy's two top anti-Mafia fighters, magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, two months apart in 1992 galvanized many Sicilians against the mob, helping chip away at the centuries-old "omerta," the island's code of silence and mistrust of authorities. Provenzano was among the Mafia bosses convicted of ordering Falcone's slaying, but as mob boss he allowed fewer sensational killings and ordered more infiltration of seemingly respectable people into real estate and financial markets, Grasso has said. Some mobsters considered as potential new leaders for the Sicilian Mafia Italian investigators say it's not clear who might emerge as the Sicilian Mafia's new top boss, but they will be closing watching aides to the just captured Bernardo (The Tractor) Provenzano. Among them: -Matteo Messina Denaro, 43, from Trapani, whom some consider the mob's No. 2 man. He has been on the wanted list since 1993 for murder and other crimes. -Salvatore Lo Piccolo, in his 60s, from Palermo. He has been a fugitive since 1998 for alleged involvement in murders. ? It?s not so much a matter of preference per se? but their respective capabilities versus cash outlay. PowerDVD, on the whole, is a pretty ordinary bit of programming. It?s bloated, cpu intensive and pretty expensive given the limited functionality of it. By contrast, Media Player Classic is small, fast and free. It?s also been programmed to take advantage of the various sound and video codecs in the K-Lite Codec Pack, including weird ones like Monkey Audio. The interface for PowerDVD might look nicer compared to the rather cheap and dodgy Media Player Classic GUI but MPC is a far superior program.

It?d be interesting to see if you still had problems after flashing your drive as a BenQ 1620. There?s some links below if you want to try it but it?s not recommended if you?re a bit iffy about stuffing around with your hardware. http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?p=140319#140319 http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=721103&postcount=6

Personally, I wouldn?t bother with PowerDVD. Media Player Classic is faster, more capable and free.

Not with this program. Try PgcEdit. http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/

Hello, Knowing what files you?d like contained within the ISO itself would help alot. e.g. Is it a movie DVD, Audio CD (which isn?t supported) or a compilation of various types of files like video clips? Knowing what you?re trying to do can help us help you.

I?ve de-packed ImgBurn v1.2.0.0 and uploaded it to my webspace for you. Download it from http://users.tpg.com.au/adsldxhe/imgburn.exe and copy it over to your ImgBurn folder in c:\program files\imgburn\ replacing the old ImgBurn.exe file.
