  2. Meat...you can't use crap media to try to troubleshoot. I know that wasting the discs that you paid good money for is a pain in the ass and the wallet also, but you have to 'break good aggs' to get a good omlette...if you try using rotten ones your omlette still sux. I was unable to find a more current firmware for your burner so that's as good as it gets with the device for right now. Maybe someone else has another idea.
  3. KFC...mmmmmmmmmmm goooooood....Here!!!!
  4. To whom it may concern: Just keeping you posted so you will not embarrass yourself. Due to the climate of political correctness now "pervading" America, those of us in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky will no longer be referred to as "HILLBILLIES." You must now refer to us as: APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS. Thank you!

    Brit math maybe....???
  6. It's because when we tell them to post a log, change media, upgrade firmware and RTFG they become all frustrated and really don't want to be told that they assed the process up by not reading the threads, using the search function or taking the time to learn the process in the first place. It's easier for us to use the IB crystal ball method and play 20 questions with them than it is for them to do what we ask.

That's ok Groundrush...I don't understand the other half.....
  8. You can also try some of these they give you free trials and such.
  9. ImgBurn is a file burning program, therefore it doesn't copy. You will need to get the image to your HDD and for that I would suggest you use Google and search for what you want to do.
  10. Then why ask for advice if you're not willing to follow it and return or throw away the crap discs you bought and heed the advice given??????
  11. Agreed Polo...then there is the price of the discs.....look!
  12. I use a BenQ 1655 and a Plextor 716A and have had good results with both. I alsop have an old NEC 1300 in my server that burns just as good as the day I got it.....
  13. Hi 3DFX and welcome to the forum. The drive will only burn as slow as it sees the disc MID rated. Starting out slow and 'ramping up' is what your drive was designed to do. It would represent a problem if it stayed at or less than 2X, but that is not the case here. I burn all my discs at 8X and have very few problems if any with playback. Just a few recommendations for new members. 1. Read the Faq's and Guides 2. Use the 'search' function. 3. Read the forum threads. edit: 4. I forgot...post a copy of the log file so that we can see for ourselves what is going on.
  14. It's your choice as to what you want to believe and not believe... Your disc's and drive have a compatibility problem...period. It matters not if Plextor recommended them or shipped them directly to your home from their warehouse...those particular discs don't work for you...get your money back from the supplier and buy more Verbs since they produce decent results on your machine.
