I've not had a problem with cd's either, regardless of who makes them. I don't believe there is a problem with them since the cd standard has been in place and accepted for such a long time. DVD's are a different subject entirely. Japan and Taiwan seem to put out the best products, as long as you stay within the parameters of TY or Verb naming. India, China, Malaysia and other areas of production are a problem since their goal seems to be to flood the marketplace with junk and let the 'buyer beware'.....

As I was reading this I realized how really screwed up I was at the time. Anyone sober would have run away like I did the first time....but I was fascinated and just drunk enough to not really care and could have been in a world of hurt I guess.....

Pamela; Your choice of media is garbage, pure and simple. Buy some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DataLifePlus discs, which are what we recommend here, and try again. If this Matsushitsu drive is in an HP machine they have a newer firmware available also. Here Just so you know...RI4me is a ripping program and we don't assist with those.

Is this all happening on the Verb DL's? If you're using other media please post the mid's from IB for the media you're using. You also might want to post the log when you get a failed burn...

During the 70's and 80's I lived in the Western part of the county and watched two dofferent ones cut through a corn field about 1000 yards from my front porch. The first one was disturbing in the damage that it did when it hit the next town along the line was devastating. The second one came through ...as I was enjoying a few beers ...while running a backhoe in my front yard and I remember that I held up my bottle as a toast to mother nature as I watched the corn stalks and other stuff being thrown around the field. I guess we were just lucky as there was a slight drop in the elevation between where I lived and where both of the tornadoes ripped up the fields. They seemed to follow the depression in the landscape and slammed the hell out of the next town.

I saw some interesting things when on the job...but not that!!!!

I agree w/Polo...8X gives good quality burns on Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden discs...
