  1. Sounds like the drive is struggling to burn that media. Try with Verbatim DVD+RWs and it should work
  2. Update the firmware on your burner (remove any disc and close tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). If that doesn't solve your problem, try verifying with the other drive you have.
  3. No. ImgBurn doesn't use external programs/APIs to do its job. Time for a new burner I guess, they're pretty cheap these days
  4. Switch the Output to Device and you'll burn directly to media (you don't need to create an ISO image before burning). Also close unused programs to free up system resources.
  5. Do you have Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools installed? Also please post your Filter Driver Load Order (look in ImgBurn's Tools menu).
  6. Try burning at 4x and, if that doesn't work, try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. You might also want to try a lens cleaning disc on that burner. Is that a Dell laptop? If so, you might want to update the firmware to the latest version (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
  7. Make sure you have the latest drivers for the SATA controller where the burner is connected to.
  8. Try installing this driver from Nvidia. Also make sure you have the latest BIOS version available. How's the SATA Operation Mode configured in your BIOS?
  9. Do you have the latest drivers for the SATA controller where the drive is connected to? Could you try the drive on other SATA ports? What's the brand and model of your motherboard?
  10. If you use the Verify mode to verify the DVD-RW against the image, does it work?
  11. By the way, ekrn.exe is NOD32's realtime scanner.
  12. You could try burning at 2.4x or 4x on that media, or maybe trying other brands that you can find. If you can find this type of Verbatim media I'm sure you'll get a good burn
  13. Tools -> Drive -> Erase Disc -> Full in most modes, or in Write mode click the disc with a red eraser on it
  14. First of all, please update ImgBurn to the latest version. Try a Full Erase on that DVD-RW to see if any error comes up. Could you also post the log from the burn on Verbatim media?
  15. Please send to the e-mail address shown in Help menu -> About ImgBurn
  16. Open ImgBurn, switch to Write mode and insert a disc. Does the message in the status bar change to something like "Device Not Ready (Logical Unit is in process of becoming ready)"? What does it say after that? You might also want to try different type of discs.
  17. How does it identify itself to the system? (e.g. the name shown in ImgBurn's Write mode)
  18. Also please post a log from ImgBurn (look in the Help menu).
  19. ImgBurn gets the length from the DirectShow decoder(s), so you have either a buggy decoder or the files aren't being correctly generated by your recording program.
  20. Then your drive isn't recognizing the disc. Where is the disc able to be read as you said?
  21. Your burner doesn't support the discs you're using. You could try finding older 8x DVD+R blanks that your drive may burn, or you could just buy a new burner since they're pretty cheap nowadays. While you're at it, get rid of the CD-ROM drive too if you have no real use for it.
  22. The Verify mode can read any type of disc that your drive supports. Are you sure the right drive is selected in the Source drive list?
  23. It'll only show 'Book Type: DVD-ROM' (under Last Recorded) after the disc is burned.
  24. Try burning at 6x or 8x, but RITEKF1 media is almost as crap as CMC MAG you tried before. You might also want to try a lens cleaning disc on that drive. And, as I said before, Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks are the best.
  25. The drive thinks there's no disc in the drive. If you insert a burned (or pressed) dual-layer disc, does it recognize the disc and show the information?
