  1. I guess they should be around the same price as Verbatims
  2. Please post the log from that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
  3. You have to change the correct options in Tools menu -> Settings.
  4. They aren't working now, are they? Ever thought that the previous burns were just barely good enough for reading? You have two choices: change the media or change the burner.
  5. The problem is low quality media. Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks and it should work fine
  6. Post the log from a failed burn at your friend's so that we can see what the problem could be.
  7. ImgBurn sends the quick/full erase command if you force it to, but your burner doesn't obey it and returns an error. If I recall correctly there are some Plextor burners capable of wiping a burned disc, do you happen to have a Plextor burner? Next time get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks and you won't have problems with them
  8. Check the fragmentation of your HDs. Are you using the latest storage drivers available for your motherboard's chipset?
  9. Yes. Older versions of those programs could have bugs that affect the burning process.
  10. Your burner doesn't support the discs you're using. Update the burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it has finished) and try again. You'll have better burns if you use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks instead of the ones you have.
  11. Using the latest ImgBurn in Write mode, could you please insert one of those burned DVD-R DL and copy all the text shown in the Information box?
  12. You may also want to try a lens cleaning disc on your burner.
  13. Have you tried burning at 6x or 8x? If they don't work then you should try with Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks.
  14. Yup -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=5555
  15. Has this ever happened before? Have you recently installed some other program that could be "using" the drive?
  16. Yes, it was a bad burn. Update the firmware and try again. Also update ImgBurn to the latest version
  17. If your computer is a desktop, buy an internal DVD burner and replace the drive you currently have. If your computer is a laptop, it's easier to get an external burner, which is really an internal burner in an external enclosure
  18. Please post the log from that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu). You should also update your burner's firmware to the latest version (remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before updating then reboot the computer after the updating is finished).
  19. You're right, I misread your post Let us know how it works out
  20. Look in ImgBurn's Help menu
  21. That happens because you didn't run ImgBurn.exe with the /PORTABLE switch and/or ImgBurn.ini didn't have PortableMode=1 in it. That happens because you didn't run ImgBurn.exe with the /PORTABLE switch and/or ImgBurn.ini didn't have the PortableMode=1 line in it. See how both problems are caused by the same thing?
  22. And you haven't read my messages with detail. ImgBurn.ini stores the program's settings, so yeah, when you change the settings, they get written to ImgBurn.ini (but not to windows registry)! I don't know your definition of a portable program, but portable programs are allowed to their configuration to file(s) in the same folder as the programs are stored.
  23. If you ever ran ImgBurn without the /SETTINGS and /PORTABLE switches then that's why those settings were recorded on the registry. The ImgBurn.ini is only created when you tell ImgBurn to do so, otherwise the registry is used. Wipe ImgBurn's entries from the registry and run it with /PORTABLE /SETTINGS ImgBurn.ini and you'll see that the registry isn't touched.
  24. Yes, ImgBurn.ini is useful for carrying your settings. If there's no ImgBurn.ini nor the registry entries for ImgBurn, then the program will load the default settings.
