  1. Those two drives automatically booktype +R DL media to DVD-ROM. Insert a burned disc while in Write mode and look at the booktype under Physical Information (Last Recorded). It's also shown in the log at the start of the Verify process. The layerbreak can be set at Tools -> Settings -> Write tab, but if you're burning from a .dvd or .mds file(s) they'll tell ImgBurn where to place the layerbreak
  2. The "No way to query current setting!" message is normal for Samsung (TSSTcorp) burners, as Samsung, in all their wisdom, decided not to include that feature in their firmwares In that dialog you took the screenshot from, click the Change button and if it says Success then you're good to go
  3. Slower isn't always better, and your drive only supports burning this media at 4x. Have you tried with Verbatim DVD+R DL discs?
  4. Have you tried Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks?

  6. You might want to try with better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. Also try with other burning speeds (with DVD burning slower doesn't always mean better).
  7. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 You could also try slower speeds but your media is :& anyway

  9. What's the device name as shown in ImgBurn?

  11. Then you know what you need to do, don't you?
  12. The disc probably is in a region/color format not supported by your DVD player.
  13. Latest firmware for your burner is SB01, so you should apply it (remove any disc and close the tray before doing it). Also please read this post as it's relevant to your problem.
  14. Try with Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks and it should work.
  15. DVD Shrink, DVD Rebuilder and many other programs can do that, and that's out of the scope of ImgBurn

  17. If you have more than one burner on your computer, make sure the right one is selected in the Destination box. With a blank disc in the burner, what does ImgBurn say in the status bar (bottom of the window)?
  18. Have you tried what this post from the FAQ says? There's firmware SB04 available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished.
  19. If you're burning a lot of dual-layer media then it's time for a new burner, they're pretty cheap.
  20. Have you installed the storage drivers for your motherboard chipset? Look in the chipset manufacturer's website for the latest version, as the version on the motherboard's CD/website usually isn't the latest.
  21. Have you tried burning at 8x or 12x?
  22. Try reading that disc on other drives and, if you're lucky, you may be able to copy it
  23. When you burn with Toast do you also set the write speed to 2.4x like you do in ImgBurn? If I'm not mistaken it defaults to use the max speed, which in your case is 4x. Also, I'm not sure about your SE-S204S burner, but my SH-S203B (internal 20x SATA) does better quality burns at 4x on those Verbatim blanks.
  24. The log tells us it's a successful burn, correctly booktyped too, so there's no reason it shouldn't play. Maybe your Xbox 360's drive doesn't like DVD+R DL media, or has worn out to the point that it can't properly read it. Does it play single-layer recordable discs properly? Try this disc on other Xbox 360s if you can.
