  1. Please post the log from a burn where this happens (you can find the logs at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs).
  2. Open Command Prompt and type start /? You'll see that there's the /MIN parameter, which runs the program minimized. You might also want to use /WAIT so that it doesn't launch several ImgBurns at once.
  3. For data DVDs the layerbreak is calculated automatically
  4. There's firmware CS08 available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot after it has finished. What's the brand of the discs you're using? You might get better burns at 8x or 12x speed.
  5. Did you Verify to make sure the disc was properly burnt?
  6. A firmware update could help but I didn't find any for your burner. A new burner also isn't a sure shot to burn crap media, so what's the easiest solution? Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks. As for 'works perfectly', try a quality scan on that disc using DVDInfoPro or DiscSpeed and you might change your mind about that
  7. The burn process relies on 3 things: burner, firmware and media. You're using high quality media (Verbatim) and the latest firmware available for your burner. So now we're trying to find out if something is wrong with the burner, and dirty lens is one possibility.
  8. You'd have to open your burner to see the lens, so it's much easier to clean them with some lens cleaner disc kit. Timeout on Logical Unit means the drive didn't answer the program's command and, if it was during read/verify, it's Samsung burners' way of saying that it couldn't read the disc.
  9. That's the problem with non-Verbatim dual-layer media: their quality is anyone's guess, and the one that burned may have been just out of luck
  10. Depends on the content of the ISO image. What is it? DVD-Video (i.e. movie/etc)? Xbox360 game?
  11. If it's a dual-layer disc image, without the .dvd file you may be missing the correct position for the layerbreak. Depending on the contents of the ISO image this may result in a non-working disc.
  12. It's easier to download some disc already built to do that and much more, like Hiren's BootCD for instance (you can easily find it on torrents)
  13. No, the problem is that the burner couldn't burn the media. You may want to try a lens cleaner disc on that burner as well.
  14. Both the Pioneer and Asus burners automatically booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM, so you don't have to worry about it. Please read this post regarding double layer media. Make sure both burners have the latest firmware available for them (Pioneer / Asus ).
  15. This is from your log, and, as you can see, your disc uses Ritek dye. I'd try with Verbatim media
  16. Have you tried playing this disc on other bluray players? Like a friend's PS3 for example?
  17. It seems Ghost was designed to work in a way that makes it difficult to change the bootable CD. They probably made it this way to reduce the chance of users screwing up their systems by fiddling with stuff they don't know (not your case ). How does it work? You boot with one CD, start the program and then it asks for the other discs with the GHO file(s)?
  18. Rename the file removing the comma at the end and it should work. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before applying the firmware. Reboot after it has finished. Try burning again and if it still doesn't work then read this

    disc type?

Have you tried different brands of CD-R? How about CD-RWs? We need to find out if your drive doesn't like a specific disc/brand or if it has lost its CD burning capability.
  20. There's firmware EL01 available for your burner at http://au.lgservice.com/ (Device Driver -> DVD-ROM(Writer) -> page 2). Remove any disc and close the tray before applying the firmware. Reboot after it has finished. Also please try with high quality media, such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, so that we can rule out media as the problem.

    disc type?

If it shows Medium Not Present then the drive thinks there's no disc inside. Are you sure you have at least a CD burner? Look in ImgBurn's Log window (View -> Log if you closed it), what does the 'Found ...' line say?
