  1. ImgBurn adds its autoplay entries but doesn't touch the other options so the problem may be elsewhere. Anyway, as Cynthia pointed out, check the Registry tab, and it might also be worth looking in the Device tab. Have you tried re-installing your DVD player software? That should fix its autoplay ability.
  2. Upgrade to the latest ImgBurn There's firmware KS0B available for your burner. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before updating the firmware. Reboot the computer after the update has finished. Also, the media you're using is crap. Try burning at 8x or 12x and it might work, but you'll have much better quality burns if you use Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  3. Use SIW or HWiNFO32 to find out which motherboard you have, then go to its manufacturer website (use Google) and download the latest storage/IDE/SATA drivers available for it
  4. Having the latest firmware ensures the drive knows how to properly burn the different types of media, so yes, it is good to always have the latest. As for the media, if it was good, shouldn't it work for you too? If your friends aren't using laptop burners (which are known to be picky about the media they like) then it isn't a fair comparision, and even if they are, your blanks could be from a lower quality batch. Anyway, buy a few Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks and give them a go
  5. This problem is typical of low quality media, besides, you said it yourself that the Verbatims burned fine, so I don't see any problem here
  6. There's firmware BD1C available for your burner at Dell's Support website. You should also get better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, as the ones you've tried are low quality.
  7. You get what you pay for. Those Infiniti discs are cheaper than Verbatim for a reason: lower quality :&
  8. If that drive is on a Dell laptop, look at Dell's website in Support section for a firmware update (there should be at least DE04 available)
  9. Just as I thought You see, those random cheap discs identify themselves to the burner as if they were high quality media, and when the burner tries to burn them with the "good media" strategy, it fails because the dye of the disc is crap. Try with real high quality media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, and you'll get good burns at any speed
  10. Have you tried burning at 4x or 6x? Is that real Verbatim 8x DVD+R blanks? Also check the laptop's manufacturer website for firmware updates for your burner.
  11. Where did you see that it should be 6050A? I've looked on Google and couldn't find a NEC 6050A burner.
  12. Clearly the drive doesn't support the disc you're using, as that's the Media ID code of a DVD-R DL disc! Get Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks and you might be able to burn them.
  13. Install ffdshow and make sure MP3 is selected to be decoded by ffdshow audio decoder. It'll have a higher merit than l3codecx.ax and, as such, will be used for decoding the MP3s
  14. Please post the logs from when you burned the BD-RE and from when you burned the BD-R (you can find them at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs)
  15. Follow this guide and the discs will be playable on pretty much any device
  16. OPC is automatically performed by the drive regardless. The 'Perform OPC Before Write' option asks the drive for OPC data before burning, as this could indicate media incompatibility problems (power calibration errors/etc), but it's now disabled by default:
  17. There's firmware FS0K available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot the computer when the update has finished. Even though it may work, your burner is old and might not be doing good burns on newer media, so you should think about getting a new burner
  18. If you use high quality media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, you won't have problems regardless of burn speed Ensuring your burner has the latest firmware available also helps burn quality on all types of media.
  19. Give DVD Flick a try if you haven't already
  20. Yeah, that happens with a lot of Samsung burners, especially the 20x (SH-S20xx) and the new 22x (SH-S223F if I recall correctly) and it happens even on good media, like yours is. If it's verifying OK and the quality test show it's good then I think there's no real problem. As for ImgBurn's firmware checker, we are aware that it doesn't work at the moment, since it relies completely on www.rpc1.org and they haven't restored their database ever since their server crashed
  21. There's firmware SB02 available for your burner. Remove any disc and close the tray before updating. Reboot the computer after the update has finished. See if this helps with your problem. You may also want to try burning at 8x. By the way, where are your Verbatim blanks made? Singapore? India? It's written in the packaging/box/spindle.
  22. A disc image file is an exact representation from the source disc used to create such image file, therefore, when you burn that image to a blank disc, it shall act exactly as the source/original disc. If this doesn't happen then the disc image was incorrectly made and/or incorrectly burnt to media, which happens quite often due to most blank media being poor quality (the movie skips/freezes/doesn't play at all/etc). If you're in doubt about your burn, please post the log from such burn (you can find it in ImgBurn at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs)
  23. There's firmware TS12 available for your burner. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before updating. Reboot after the update has finished. You should also get better media, such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks, as the one you're using right now has a :& quality dye. By the way, it's burning at 4x because you chose that speed in the Device tab of Build mode
