Please post the log from when you've burned the diamond castle DVD (you can find it at Help menu -> ImgBurn Logs). Also try playing that DVD on the computer and see if it has problems playing at the same point it has in the standalone DVD player.

Actually you were "overspeeding" the burn to 18x, and the blanks are rated for 16x. You should still get a good burn at 16x, but on most newer burners, the best burn quality is achieved at 8x and 12x speeds By the way, where are your Verbatim blanks made? India? Singapore? Somewhere else? It's written in the packaging/box/spindle.

Use DVD Flick (free) or ConvertXtoDVD (paid) to convert your MPEG-2 file and burn the output VIDEO_TS folder to disc, which will be playable on any standalone DVD player including Xboxes

Was this intentional? I mean, you're only burning 5 small files to a DVD disc. If this wasn't intentional, go to the Options tab of ImgBurn's Build mode and click Reset Settings, then confirm. Please put the Write Type back to DAO/SAO (it's in Tools -> Settings -> Write tab). You can change the write speed in the Device tab of ImgBurn's Build mode. Nope. It does seem your drive doesn't like blank dual-layer discs anymore. Can it at least the burnt ones? If I were you I'd replace the burner for a Pioneer 115 or maybe a Samsung S202 (burn at 4x on both of these burners as this produces a better quality burn than at 2.4x)

Where are you looking for the disc's booktype? In the Information pane the current booktype is under Physical Information (Last Recorded). It's also in the log at the start of the Verify process.

CopytToDVD uses Patin-Couffin interface and CloneDVD uses ElbyCDIO interface, both available as options in ImgBurn's I/O settings, so try with them and see if it works.

If the burning speed doesn't go above 2.0x then it's still working in PIO mode, and Windows may lie when it says the device is in UltraDMA mode, that's why I said to follow the post all the way through (removing controllers and rebooting)
