  1. You have 'Include Hidden Files' and/or 'Include System Files' option(s) enabled in the Options tab of ImgBurn's Build mode. Untick them and it desktop.ini will be ignored
  2. I recommend using Daemon Tools (maybe Ner0 ImageDrive :& ) for mounting that NRG disc image to a virtual drive, then follow this guide using the virtual drive's VIDEO_TS folder as the source. You can then choose an appropriate layerbreak, where a small pause is less noticeable (fade-in/fade-out/scene change/etc) through the use of the Preview feature The original layerbreak will probably be one of the available options As for your second question, if you use ImgBurn's Read mode to create an exact copy of the source disc, the original layerbreak of the source disc will be preserved on your burnt copies. If you use the Build mode, you'll be able to choose which layerbreak to use from a list of the ones available, and you'll also be able to preview where they happen (oops I think I already said that above)
  3. I guess he wanted to know what's inside the ISO files (DVD-Video/apps/games/etc) since my advice only applies to DVD-Video (movies/series/etc) disc images
  4. Also slow down the burn speed to 8x or 12x, or at the very least to 16x if you're in a hurry
  5. ImgBurn doesn't work like that. For doing what you want you'll need a DVD re-authoring/combining program

    I/O error

What LIGHTNING UK! meant was for you to go to Tools -> Settings -> Write tab, change Write Type to TAO and click OK. Then try burning again You can see the thread from the other user of a Mitsumi burner right here

    I/O error

This is the second Mitsumi CD burner to fail today... do they have an expiration date or something?!
  8. There's a newer firmware (3.0d) available for your burner at this page. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before applying the new firmware. Reboot the computer after it has finished updating. If that doesn't solve your problem, throw that museum piece in the garbage and treat yourself to a new IDE/PATA DVD burner
  9. If foobar could generate CUE files then ImgBurn would be able to burn them, so you might want to ask them about that
  10. The DVD+R standard doesn't allow Test Mode so you can't use it As for overburning DVD+R DL media I think you can't overburn it at all. You see, overburning a single-layer DVD+R will burn data closer to the outer edge of the disc, but on a recordable OTP (Opposite Track Path) dual-layer disc, the first layer is burnt from the center towards the edge, then the second layer is burnt from the edge towards the center of the disc (that's why it's called opposite track path). Besides, overburning never yielded great gain of space, not to mention that it creates a non-standard disc that not all drives may be able to read
  11. Actually, when burning from the .dvd or .mds file you don't need to manually set the layerbreak, since those files tell ImgBurn where to place the layerbreak
  12. Have a look at this guide for directions on how to burn from the .MDS file as Cynthia said
  13. I'm sorry but you'll have to look elsewhere for info about that, since ImgBurn doesn't support doing it and we don't have experience doing that
  14. The booktype is recorded to the media after you burn it, and I don't think a DVD+R(W) can be booktyped to anything else than DVD+R(W) or DVD-ROM. What it seems is that your SATA controller's driver (or even the controller itself) is messing with the communication to the burner, so make sure you're using the latest drivers available for your SATA controller. Look at the controller's manufacturer website too, not just your motherboard's website
  15. Both should be playing nice with each other since both support UltraDMA Mode 4. By the way, you still haven't posted the info I asked on post #4
  16. If the PCI card you're using is one of those generic models with one (or more) SATA port(s) and one IDE port then the card can be interefering with the communication to the burner, since most of those cards do not play nice with ATAPI devices. Can't you get an exchange on your burner for a SATA model? You also might want to check if you're using the latest drivers available for your PCI card. It's no use trying to burn again a disc that failed burning before
  17. ImgBurn uses Windows' standard API calls for the open/save dialogs so if they're not working then some other program might have messed them. Which programs have you installed recently? For now, with ImgBurn open in Build mode, drag and drop the files/folders to the Source area or drag&drop them to the Drop Zone (enable it in the View menu).
  18. Or the person did that on purpose to make you waste bandwidth/traffic/time Try playing the disc with VLC Media Player...
  19. It's probably for very specific drives, much like ripping Xbox 360 games
  20. Nope, because Dreamcast uses GD-ROM discs, which can't be read by a normal drive
  21. Upgrade your firmware to 2.1b and try burning again. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before upgrading the firmware, and after it's done, reboot the computer
  22. The only reliable dual-layer media is Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x MKM-001-00 Made in Singapore. There's also firmware DL13 available at http://au.lgservice.com/ (Device Driver -> DVD-ROM(Writer) -> page 7) for your burner. Remove any disc from the drive and close the tray before applying the new firmware.
  23. Look for newer firmware for your burner, try other burn speeds and most importantly try with good quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks
