  1. You need a DVD burner to burn a DVD-R Your drive is a CD burner and DVD reader, also known as combo drive.
  2. Use SIW to discover your motherboard brand and model, then Google for the manufacturer's website: there you'll find the latest drivers for all your motherboard's devices
  3. The disc you're using, is it a DVD-R or DVD-RW? If it's a DVD+R or DVD+RW it won't work since your drive doesn't support them. Maybe you should buy a new burner, as that would ensure best quality burns on any format and burners are pretty cheap these days
  4. Look for updated drivers for your motherboard's chipset, since it seems the format/erase command is being blocked before reaching the drive.
  5. Try burning at 8x or 12x and see if it works. Are those real Verbatim blanks? Where are they made? It's written on the box/spindle/tub thing
  6. Your problem is low quality media. Try burning at 8x or 12x and see if it works. Anyway, you'll get much better burns using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. Also check for firmware upgrades for your burner, if you can identify its brand/model
  7. Use DVD Flick to convert your video so that it plays on any DVD player
  8. Disable your antivirus/antispyware/firewall/etc just before burning and see if that error still happens. I've had a similar problem with AVG 8, which is a lot slower than AVG 7.5 ever was :&
  9. Your mind has been freed from The Matrix. Welcome to the real world
  10. Try using the booktype options under the BenQ tab and see if they work. For dual-layer media, we only recommend using Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x MKM-001-00 Made in Singapore blanks.
  11. Just because you have a 20x burner doesn't mean you need to burn at 20x. To get good burns at high speed you also have to use good quality blanks, such as the ones made by Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden. Burning at 8x or 12x usually gives the best results.
  12. You don't need to manually set the layerbreak if you burn from the .dvd file. Search for your burner model on CDFreaks Forum and find the OEM, which you can then try in ImgBurn's Book Type dialog.
  13. Your burner is pretty old and you're using some of the lowest quality media known to man. That's not a good combination You'll have more chance of success using Taiyo Yuden 8x or Verbatim 8x blanks. Or maybe you should invest in a new burner, which is pretty cheap nowadays and also ensures better quality burns
  14. Please post the log from that burn (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs).
  15. The latest firmware available for your Pioneer DVR-111D burner is 1.29, so you should upgrade yours since using the latest firmware ensures higher quality burns. Regarding the booktype, as Cynthia said, you'll have to patch the firmware before applying it on the burner, since there's no "manual" way to booktype +R media on Pioneer burners.
  16. Upgrade your burner's firmware to the latest version available (SS25) and try again. Remember to remove any disc from the burner and close the tray before upgrading the firmware. Also notice that the media you're using is known for its low quality, so it's also recommended that you use better media, such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  17. ImgBurn is just a burning tool (i.e. it doesn't convert anything). Use DVD Flick to convert your movies
  18. Try the Lite-On tab of the booktype dialog, as it seems it could be a Lite-On burner. Also get better media, such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks, or at least burn at a slower speed with your current :& media. Are you sure you're burning DVD-Video content (i.e. VIDEO_TS folder/IFO/BUP/VOB files)? If you're burning AVI/WMV/etc files, you'll need to convert them with a program like DVD Flick before burning, or the disc won't play on the majority of the DVD players.
  19. Please post a log from one of such burns (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs).
  20. You'll have to manually split your data in 4.38 GiB chunks before you can use ImgBurn to burn it to media. Or you could use one of the many available backup tools and let it do everything for you As for the failed to reserve track error, please post the log from that burn attempt (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs).
  21. What exactly do you want to do? Have you looked in the Guides section?
  22. Have a look in http://www.liteonit.com/
  23. Assuming you're using Read mode, it's in Tools/Settings/Read tab, change Default Destination to Most Recently Used and click OK.
  24. Some Matshita drives automatically booktype DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM, and that's why I said you should search for your specific model/firmware
  25. There's no way to manually booktype on Matshita drives Search the CDFreaks Forum for your exact model and have a look at other users' experiences with that burner.
