  1. Please read this post -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...dpost&p=975
  2. You could've used the Verify mode to verify the burned discs
  3. Did you have Verify enabled? Did it pass the Verify stage without errors?
  4. Actually the latest firmware for GSA-4163B is A106, which you can download here: http://lgodd.lge.com/fwdrv/DVD-WRITER/GSA4163A106.exe (link intentionally made non-clickable)
  5. It should be: FILE "Mosaiques - Beethoven.ape" APE
  6. Please post the log(s) from the failed burn(s). You can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs
  7. Are those Verbatim blanks made in Singapore or India (look in the package)? People have better results with the ones made in Singapore. Also notice that burners wear out, and laptop burners aren't known for their reliability/dependability. One last resort would be trying a lens cleaner on it. It might be a good idea to get an external burner
  8. Usually that error is due to low quality blanks, but since you're using Verbatim, and they're known to make good blanks, I think the problem could be an outdated firmware on your burner. I found this on HP's site and you might want to try it, since it seems to be a firmware upgrade. Anyway, even with that error the disc passes the verify stage, which means it was properly burned. If you're still worried about it, try finding Taiyo Yuden blanks, as they're also known for their high quality.
  9. Is that a HP/Compaq computer? Have you tried burning at 8x? Have you tried that disc on more than one standalone players? I'm asking all this because it seems the disc was burnt OK.
  10. People have reported better results with Verbatim DVD+R DLs Made in Singapore. Also make sure your burner(s) has(have) the latest firmware available. For your HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-E40N RE01 burner there is an updated firmware RE02, which you can download at http://au.lgservice.com/ (Device Driver -> DVD-ROM(Writer) it's in page 4). Don't forget to read the readme.txt file for instructions on how to perform the upgrade
  11. Open ImgBurn, click Write file/folders to disc and untick the Verify option. As for ejecting after burning, go to Tools/Settings/Device tab, tick the Write option in the Eject Tray After... section and click OK. Now close ImgBurn and the settings will be saved. By the way, this functionality wasn't already added because ImgBurn is a standalone program, and, as you might know, in order to do this a DLL needs to be registered within Windows. Notice, for example, that ImgBurn DVD-Video Shel Ext needs Micro$oft's .NET Framework v2.0, which is a 22.4 MB (up to 46 MB) download, not to mention that it uses a lot more space after uncompressed and installed
  12. Since your CDs are in perfect condition, you can use ImgBurn's Read mode to make disc images from them and there won't be any quality loss C2 errors reporting and EAC's thorough audio extraction method only really help when the CD is scratched/skipping/etc.
  13. Remove all four Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller items, and their respective Primary/Secondary channels will be automatically removed as well.
  14. After ImgBurn has detected your devices, please go to Tools/Filter Driver Load Order, click the Clipboard button and paste in a new post
  15. Have you tried GoldWave?
  16. I took a bootable floppy image from here (Win98SE under Non-Windows Based Image Files W/ImageApp) and used Micro$oft's Virtual PC 2007 (VMWare also would work) to mount this floppy image to a virtual machine, which you can then edit just like as if it was a real floppy disk. Then I used ImgBurn to create a bootable CD/DVD image using the modified floppy image as the bootable source
  17. I've made a bootable image with your update utility (tested on a virtual machine and it even works ) and attached to this post: you can download it and burn to disc (have Verify enabled to make sure it was properly burnt!) I have to say one thing though: usually in laptops the CD/DVD drive is connected in the same cable as the HD, so, in theory, this could interfere with the HD firmware update bootable.zip
  18. Please read this post and proceed to uninstall the controller as it says
  19. Make sure you're using Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x MKM-001-00 Made in Singapore blanks and you might have a shot at burning them with that burner Also visit the laptop's manufacturer site and look for a firmware upgrade for your burner...
  20. Since it verified OK the disc was properly burnt. Try this DVD on other DVD players to see if it works OK
  21. Those are Verbatim DVD+R DL 8x rated blanks, and they aren't as compatible as the 2.4x rated blanks. You can try to find Verbatim 2.4x blanks, or get a new burner, which probably has better support for these 8x blanks
  22. What's the brand and model of your motherboard? Are you using the latest chipset drivers available? If the cable is OK then a driver, or possibly some setting in the motherboard's BIOS, is messing up the communication with the burner. Also please post your filter list (Tools/Filter Driver Load Order click the clipboard button and paste in a new post)
  23. Have you tried connecting the burner to other SATA ports to see if it still gives this same problem?
