  1. Burning slower doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a better quality burn, especially on newer drives which are better tuned for faster burns. If the burns produced by your laptop burner aren't readable then you should invest in a new burner for your desktop computer (slim burners are rubbish in general).
  2. It doesn't look like you upgraded the storage drivers at all, and the error message, if any, is being discarded. Anyway, try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc, and if that doesn't help, then you can try finding the 2.4x Verbatim blanks or start looking for a new burner.
  3. You need to install the latest drivers for your system's chipset/storage controllers (hint: use SIW to identify them), as the communication with the burner is being messed up (notice the absence of the Disc ID). After that try burning with a brand new blank disc using 6x or 8x and then post the log for us. If SIW shows you have an Intel chipset/storage controller then install this (reboot if asked) and after that install this (also reboot if asked).
  4. Your burner is too old and doesn't support the blanks you have (notice it shows only 2.4x supported write speed when those blanks are rated for up to 8x burn speed). A new burner is pretty cheap and should be able to burn the blanks you have.
  5. That log is incomplete. Please post the full log of that burn session.

  7. See the pink banner at the top of this page? We need the burn log.
  8. Read the pink banner at the top of this page.
  9. The DVD-R DL standard doesn't allow changing the layerbreak, so you'll have to take those back as they're useless for X360 games.
  10. You did notice that this topic is almost 4 years old, right?
  11. http://www.google.com/ - feel free to help yourself because if it isn't related to ImgBurn or the burning process itself then we can't help.
  12. The pink box is at the top of this page, and in there you'll find a link explaining how to get the older logs, which are saved automatically.
  13. Is that burner connected to a black or gray SATA port? You want it on one of the black ports.
  14. That line in the Log window shows the capabilities of your burner, not the disc inside (the disc's attributes are shown in ImgBurn's window as text on the right). That 'Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present' status means your burner didn't recognise the blank disc, which on an old burner like yours, means it's dying and will need to be replaced.
  15. You do know that those drives you mentioned are readers only, right? They can't burn. As for the burner, the newer Pioneers are re-badged Lite-Ons with poor firmware, so you'd be better off buying the real Lite-On burners.
  16. You could try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc but I would go with a new burner anyway. If you have a SATA port available then I would recommend an Optiarc AD-7240S or AD-7260S burner.
  17. Your old burner doesn't support the blanks you're using. Update your burner's firmware to the latest version and try again. While you're at it, update ImgBurn too.
  18. Did you set DVD Shrink to output to an ISO image or to a VIDEO_TS folder?
  19. That's because your source ISO image was incorrectly made. Try opening it with WinRAR / 7-Zip / similar program(s) to see if it isn't a renamed compressed archive.
  20. Please post the log of those operations.
  21. Go to DVD Flick's settings and uncheck both 'create ISO image' and 'burn with ImgBurn' options (don't have DVD Flick installed so I'm not sure of their exact names). Then install the latest ImgBurn and follow this guide for burning your disc.
  22. What does ImgBurn say in the status bar when it doesn't burn? Something like "Device Not Read (reason)"?
  23. That doesn't look like Verbatim media ID. Are you sure it's Verbatim? You could try updating your burner's firmware to TO03 but I'm not sure if it'll help with that poor quality media.
  24. This is the error you're getting and it's caused by incompatibility between your system's USB chipset and the external burner's USB chipset. Search this forum for semaphore timeout to get a few more suggestions you can try in order to make it work.
