  1. Click the Mode menu then select Build: that's the mode you use for burning data files to CD/DVDs. Have a look in the Guides section for more information
  2. Update to the latest firmware available (SB01). You might also want to try burning at 16X (or slower) rather than MAX, which is 18X for those discs.
  3. Your diskette image lacks a device driver and MSCDEX, both of which are required by DOS in order to be able to read CDs/DVDs. Have a look at Bootdisk.com for bootable diskette images with support for reading CDs/DVDs (I prefer the ones under Non-Windows Based Image Files W/ImageApp since you can easily extract the diskette image from them )
  4. From the changelog: Please post the log from your failed burn attempt(s) (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn logs).
  5. Make sure you're using the latest ImgBurn version available.
  6. Please post a log from one of those attempts (the log is saved automatically and you can find it at Help/ImgBurn logs). By the way, to check for newer firmware for your burner go to Tools/Drive/Check For Firmware Updates.
  7. That's because the DVD-R standard demands that a Reserve Track command (it tells the burner how much data will be burnt to disc) must be issued before starting the actual burn procedure, while for the DVD+R standard this isn't needed. The result is that for DVD-Rs the burner refuses immediately, while for DVD+Rs the burner will go on until it reaches the end of the disc, and then errors out with Logical Block Address Out of Range or similar error.
  8. It's too big to burn to a DVD-R disc. Since it seems you're converting an AVI video to a DVD disc, give DVD Flick a try
  9. Try using the Read mode to make an ISO image from your CD. Alternatively, you could try using IsoBuster to read your CD.
  10. Muxing is short for Multiplexing, and since ImgBurn burns the data without changing anything, the problem is in your conversion tool. Have you tried DVD Flick? People say it's pretty good at converting XviD to DVD.
  11. Click the folder icon (3rd from the top), or drag and drop to ImgBurn's window the folder you want to add
  12. Sounds like poor quality media. Get Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim discs and try again.
  13. Use the Read mode to make an ISO image from your MP3 CD, then switch to Write mode and burn that ISO image to a blank CD. Use the slowest write speed available and leave the Verify option enabled, as it ensures that your disc was correctly burnt.
  14. Have you been messing with ImgBurn's settings? Even if you haven't, go to Tools/Settings, click the Defaults button then confirm. Also have a look at this thread from the FAQ about DMA issues, as your burning speed is too slow.
  15. Please post the log from that burn (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn logs).
  16. Have a look at this guide: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=61
  17. Those are very poor quality discs, so try burning them at slower speeds and they might work. Also leave the Verify option enabled to ensure they were properly burnt. Next time you're buying blanks, get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden discs and you'll never have this problem again.

    mmalves.....

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate that!
  19. Use the Verify mode to check the burnt disc against the ISO image and see if it was correctly burnt. Next time, try burning at 2.4x and leave the Verify option enabled. You might also want to get better quality media, such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, since the discs you're using aren't reliable.
  20. Try right-clicking the following link and choosing Save As: http://lgodd.lge.com/fwdrv/DVD-WRITER/GSA4163A106.exe
  21. If the speed you're selecting isn't listed as a Supported Write Speed (depends on your burner/media combo) then your burner will use the closest speed available to the one you've selected.
  22. Upgrade your burner's firmware to the latest version A106. If it doesn't solve your problem, use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media, as they're known for their high quality.
  23. What's the problem? The tray didn't close for the Verify stage?
  24. Use a program like WinRAR or 7-Zip and set it to split your data in 4.38 GiB (4.7 GB) chunks, so that you can burn each of them to a DVD±R with ImgBurn's Build mode. By the way, if you don't want compression, and the additional time it takes, set the Compression Level/Method to Store.
