  1. ImgBurn can't create open/non-finalized/multisession discs: it can only create closed/finalized discs, which is the most compatible type. Your problem seems to be poor quality media. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden rewritables as they're known for quality By the way, open/non-finalized discs wouldn't play at all on standard DVD players.
  2. Try (in this order): Tools --> Drive --> Close --> Track Tools --> Drive --> Close --> Session Tools --> Drive --> Close --> Disc
  3. Use the Preview button, young padawan
  4. Use MagicISO to open it
  5. Have a nice one!
  6. It supports both upgrading an existing version and also clean install with a serial number
  7. The latest version from the 6 series is 6.6.1.15d
  8. Low quality media. For DVD+R DL media only Verbatim (Made in Singapore) MKM-001-00 is reliable; everything else is hit or miss. If you want to make coasters of the remaining discs, try burning at 6x or 4x and there's a remote chance of success
  9. If you're in doubt, verify against the image file using another computer.
  10. Yes, ImgBurn can burn CD-Rs, and to do that, use it in Build mode with Output set to Device. This guide tells you how to use the Build mode
  11. Go to the Options tab and click Reset Settings, then click on the Calculator button again. It should show the whole 4.35GiB size.
  12. Is this shown when you're using Build mode? If so, it's normal, as the data you're adding will fit on a CD, thus a DVD isn't needed. May I guess you're trying to burn video(s) to watch on a standard DVD player? If this is the case, you'll need to convert those videos to DVD-Video format, which you can do by using DVD Flick. If it's something else, feel free to ask how to do it (have a look in the Guides section for even quicker help ) By the way, to see the real capabilities of your drive, you can go to Tools/Drive/Capabilities
  13. Your drive doesn't support the media you're trying to use (notice that it doesn't show Supported Write Speeds). The safest way around this would be to get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media (preferably the 8x ones), as they're most certainly supported by your drive.
  14. Please read the 2nd post from the FAQ thread Also post the log from that burn (you can find it at Help/ImgBurn Logs) so we can help you further
  15. Please read the 2nd post of the FAQ
  16. Use Verbatim DVD+R DLs 2.4x Made in Singapore and you won't have problems again. Look in HP's website for a newer firmware for your burner
  17. http://www.winmount.com/ - you can mount compressed files as a virtual drive with it, but it doesn't support split RAR volumes
  18. AVG Free Edition (antivirus) AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition ZoneAlarm Free Edition (firewall)
  19. Click the Erase Disc button (looks like a disc with a red eraser on it). Alternatively, go to Tools/Drive/Erase Disc and choose Full or Quick By the way, if you want to format a DVD+RW then perform a Full erase.

  21. ImgBurn can't read protected discs.
  22. VLC uses its own plugins to decode/play content (this is also why it works the same way on any supported OS), and one of those plugins allows it to play content directly from an ISO image. Most players rely on Windows' DirectShow framework to decode/play content, and, as far as I know, there isn't a DirectShow filter that allows playing video content directly from an ISO image.
  23. I've done it already, now just waiting for the release to test it
