It's default behaviour of Windows XP to show the drive as a CD Drive when there's a blank disc inside. As for the "<need provider>" option that's probably some leftover from some program you've used before and it's completely unrelated to ImgBurn. By the way, you really should leave ImgBurn with its default settings (Tools/Options/click Defaults and confirm) as that works best for everyone

Create boot CD from floppy or floppy image

You don't have a DVD burner, hence you can't burn DVDs.
-
Sorry, but we can't help you with that. Please use Google to search for alternatives

Remove any disc that's inside the burner and reboot the computer, apply the latest firmware available (1.08) (reboot the computer after applying this upgrade) and try burning again. You might also want to try other burning speeds.

Can't burn DVD+R Dual Layer Data Disc - No Matter What!
mmalves replied to homerpez's topic in ImgBurn Support
It might be hard to believe but only Verbatim DVD+R DLs give consistently good results (don't get the Made in India ones). If you can't return your Memorex discs or exchange them for Verbatims, try these steps (but don't hold me responsible for the burn quality on those discs ): make sure your burner is using the latest firmware available (in ImgBurn go to Tools/Drive/Check For Firmware Upgrade); try different burning speeds (2.4x is preferred); try burning with a different burner; always have the Verify option enabled, as it ensures that the disc was properly burnt. As for the layer break you don't need to worry about that: if it needs, ImgBurn will ask you where to put it; in all other cases it's calculated automatically. -
Can't burn DVD+R Dual Layer Data Disc - No Matter What!

Get Verbatim DVD+R DLs 2.4x and you'll have no problems at all By the way, you can build directly to your burner (go to Output menu then click Device) and the layerbreak for data discs is automatically calculated (you only need to choose one if you're dealing with DVD-Video content). -
Get Verbatim DVD+R 2.4x dual-layer media and you'll probably have success. Also check for firmware updates for your burner (probably on your laptop's manufacturer site).

My vote goes to Seagate and their 5 years warranty I've used a Seagate 20GB for 8 years (straight 24/7) before it showed the first signs of wear, and I still use it in a fat PS2 every now and then

No problem here with Firefox 2.0.0.9, Opera 9.24 or IE6. The only time I get automatically logged out is when the IP address of my connection changes.

The device buffer is shown exactly as reported by the burner, and not all of them show as 100% all the time. To ensure your DVDs are being burnt properly, enable the Verify option. As for the TYG03 discs, those are made by Taiyo Yuden and they're just as good as Verbatim's MCCs.
-
ImgBurn burns the files exactly as they are, so your problem lies elsewhere. May I suggest using DVD Flick to convert your AVIs to DVD?

burning images larger than 4.5gb as data to DVD+R DL
mmalves replied to sirens's topic in ImgBurn Support
All games are protected against copying and will only run with the original disc. -
Apply the latest firmware available for your burner and try again. Keep using 2.4x as the burning speed and remember to booktype to DVD-ROM before burning. By the way, you really should leave Verify enabled, as that ensures that the disc was properly burnt (don't worry the Verify process is faster than burning ).
-
Notice the different Media IDs: even though they may be of the same brand, they're made with different dye.
-
That's exactly the problem with poor quality discs: the quality changes from batch to batch. Try burning them at 12x, 8x or even 6x. You have a very good burner with an up-to-date firmware, so that's not a problem at all.
-
Try burning at slower speeds to see if it helps. Also, you'd be better off with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media, as Ritek has been pretty poor quality lately.
-
You can't do that with ImgBurn since ImgBurn doesn't support multisession in any way. You'll need a burning software that supports burning to multisession DVDs. Backup the information that's on this disc while you still can. //edit Please read again

Use the Build mode to burn them as data (please have a look in the Guides section if you have any doubts). //edit: oops, too slow
-
Your other computer might not have the decoder software needed to play those files. Try playing them with VLC Media Player.
-
You should use the Build mode (have a look in the Guides section if you're in doubt).

Upgrade ImgBurn to the latest version on that computer and the problem will go away Make sure the other computers are using the latest version too.
