  2. There's a newer firmware available (MS0R) for your burner.

  4. That's an authoring issue, and ImgBurn is just a burning program. Try using DVD Flick to convert your AVI.
  5. Open ImgBurn, press F8, close ImgBurn
  6. From a quick search, DRMK (Dell Real Mode Kernel) is Dell's version of MS-DOS, and is the O/S used when booting to the Restore or Utility partitions on recent Dell systems. I'm sorry, but I don't have DRMK, so I can't tell for sure about its features/limitations. May I ask what exactly are you trying to do? Maybe there are other ways to do it. Feel free to send me a private message if you want.
  7. Type ver and hit Enter, and it'll tell you which MS-DOS version it is.
  8. Use Standard character set and disable Allow Files Without Extensions if you don't need it. The boot image you're using, is it from a floppy, HD partition, other? Which version of DOS does it have?
  9. MSCDEX can only read ISO9660 Level 1 (8.3 characters) filesystem, so that's the only one you should use on your disc.
  10. ImgBurn, by default, automatically booktypes DVD+R DLs to DVD-ROM on TSSTcorp burners. Make sure your burner has the latest firmware available (SB06) and burn those Verbatim DVD+R DLs at 2.4x.
  11. I've done that and it works fine. The disc is seen as a data DVD and the layerbreak doesn't affect anything.
  12. Update your burner's firmware to A306 (latest version available) and try again. Notice, though, that those discs are poor quality, so don't trust them too much. Whenever you can, buy Verbatim or Taiyo Yudem media and you'll never have problems again
  13. To rule out a bad transfer, please reboot your computer and re-download the installer again. Also check the MD5 hash if you can.
  14. Follow this guide: How to burn an image with ImgBurn
  15. Go to the Options tab and change File System to UDF. You might also want to try ISO9660 + Joliet too.
  16. This has been asked and answered many times before...

    Erasing DVD+RW's

Ensure there's no disc inside your burner, close the tray and run KS0B.EXE to update your firmware. After it has finished, reboot your computer and it's done.
  18. In this particular case the error happened because you've tried to burn more data than the disc supports. As for the other errors you've mentioned, they could be due to a lot of different things and we'd need the burn logs from those bad burns to know what exactly went wrong with them. You can find the older logs in Help/ImgBurn logs. You might want to update your burner's firmware to the latest version available (PS0B), as having the latest firmware ensures good burns on all types of media.
  19. While you're at it, you might want to upgrade your burner's firmware to 1.03.
  20. Could you post the log from that burn? You can find it at Help/ImgBurn logs. By the way, there's a 203E firmware available for your NEC ND-6500A.
  21. A DVD-Video disc is a data disc with a particular structure: it must have a VIDEO_TS folder at the root of the disc with the *.IFO/*.VOB files inside it, and it must have the UDF 1.02 filesystem. In other burning programs, these requirements are only enforced when you select the DVD-Video compilation/profile. ImgBurn, on the other hand, recognizes DVD-Video content by the presence of VIDEO_TS.IFO/VTS_xx_nn.IFO/VTS_xx_nn.VOB files and asks/makes the appropriate changes, if any are needed.
  22. Those are limitations of Windows' standard dialogs, which ImgBurn uses in order to be compatible with most Windows versions. Drag the files/folders to the Source area of ImgBurn's window and they'll be added
  23. While in Build mode, go to the Output menu and select Device. The default settings are good enough for DVD-Video discs.
  24. Also, you really should use that burner on a computer with USB 2.0 ports, since USB 1.1 ports (as yours seems to be) are too slow for burning DVDs.
  25. That's your problem: crappy media. Try and get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media and you won't have any problems
