  1. When you extract the .rar file the contents of the other r00/etc files are also extracted. You're using a slim burner, and slim burners are rubbish in general, so you need to use good quality media in order to have a chance of a good burn. You can find Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks on many online stores, and Verbatim can also be found in the big retailers I think. As for +R or -R you'd need to ask in a forum dedicated to Wii where people have lots of experience with it.
  2. Notice the link in that post.
  3. Update your burner's firmware and try burning at 4x. If that doesn't help then try cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc, or even manually if you know how to do it.
  4. You need to extract the ISO image first (open the .rar file with WinRAR / 7-Zip /etc and you'll see). You should then burn the ISO image using ImgBurn's Write mode. Try burning at 6x or 8x. Also try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
  5. Good, one less idiot that we won't be wasting time with.
  6. Not with ImgBurn.
  7. Sounds like you need to adjust your TV's input settings or your DVD player's settings. Play the DVD on the computer using PowerDVD/WinDVD/VLC Media Player/Media Player Classic Homecinema/etc and check if it's indeed widescreen.

  9. Yes, your files are too large for a single layer BluRay disc. There are programs that can strip/compress your source files so that it can fit on a single layer disc.
  10. There's SB03 for that burner.
  11. The 5240S should be the same as 7240S but without DVD-RAM support.
  12. http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=6380 - since you already have the disc image on your computer you can start from step 2. Post the log of the failed burn.

Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot updating is finished) and try again.
  14. You didn't Verify your burn, so we don't know if the disc was correctly burned or not. By the way there's newer firmware for your Samsung burner.
  15. Update your burner's firmware. Try burning at 6x or 8x. Try with high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks. Cleaning the drive with a lens cleaning disc also could help.
  16. Your burner doesn't like the DVD+RW disc you have. Try with Verbatim DVD+RW and it should work.
  17. Post your own log.

With most new-ish burners you get best quality burns at 8x and 12x, and when using high quality media such as Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden blanks then 16x is also good. It seems your burner is working in PIO mode, which is why it doesn't get above 2x, so have a look here on how to solve that problem. Also look for the latest storage drivers for your system (this website might help). On another note there's newer firmware available for your burner.
  19. All the burns in that log seem to be successful. Have you rebooted your computer after burning those discs? Sometimes Windows gets stuck detecting a disc.
  20. Post the log of the failed burn.
  21. LiteOn, Samsung and LG burners can do it right out of the box. Optiarc and Pioneer (avoid the 118/218 models) burners can do it after flashing a modified firmware. Now if you meant DVD+R DL then all burners automatically booktype that type of media to DVD-ROM.
  22. If it has a .mds file created from the source disc (if there's one) then you should use it. As for the layerbreak the star colour should tell you which one(s) is(are) better, and if they're all average, use the Preview button to select a scene where a small pause wouldn't be noticed (e.g. not in the middle of a car chase ). As for seamless you'd have to burn one disc with it enabled and one with it disabled and test on your DVD player in order to find out if it supports seamless layerbreak or not
  23. You can only Test so far, but actually writing the disc allows the burner to check the burn quality and make on-the-fly adjustments to ensure a good quality burn (have a look here).
