  1. btw, don't compare 'Quality' ratings between the two. The algorithms used to calculate that value are very different in each program. CDSpeed's is pretty basic. DVDInfoPro's takes more into account.
  2. Best thing to do is buy them from an online retailer. Most of the decent ones will quote the discs 'Manufacturer ID' alongside the other info (i.e. the price!).
  3. This is'nt ps2warez.com!!
  4. A VCD/SVCD is not a single session, single track image. (that's what ImgBurn supports). As such, they're not supported and I would expect them to error out. Thanks for taking the time to report it though.
  5. After the last one. I'm not THAT silly
  6. When it's finished
  7. That's one guy saying it....and with nothing to backup his claims. 100 scans from each program (2 spindles, alternate discs) should be enough to convince me
  8. I thought this might please you too Cynthia
  9. Not sure how that helps with this issue, but thanks anyway?!
  10. John Schneider...... not a fan of Smallville are you?! Hmm that is an interesting problem. I have no control over these error messages, your drive just doesn't seem to want to burn those discs. Without being sat infront of your pc and comparing every command Nero sends to every command ImgBurn sends, there is no real way for me to help you. Try in 'Test Mode' and it would probably work ok. That shows you my program's logic is ok but the drive really just can't do a real burn on the media - at least not when told to do so by ImgBurn. A quick search on Google finds people (at afterdawn) with the same drive / media (roughly), and it failing in all programs. So I wouldn't be suprised if your Nero burn was something of a fluke. Try something other than CMC media, they're a massive source of problems, especially in LiteOn drives (yours is an OEM LiteOn 1633). Take a look at the LiteOn subforum at cdfreaks.com and see what they recommend.
  11. I hesitated with this at first but figured 'what the hell' and added it. I did have to shorten the text of some of the other options though. Now we have: Verify Delete Image Close Program Shutdown Computer The tooltips/hints give more of an explanation as to what each one does/is for.
  12. The burn quality comes from the drive/firmware/media, not the software. But in any case, the engine is the same, ImgBurn just has additional bits.
  13. If what you've got won't fit on your media, yes it will need to be compressed so that it does.
  14. 1.2 isn't going to be anything major anyway. Just fixing a few bits here and there and adding some smaller new features. It's not going to have ISO building or anything big like that in it.
  15. Then they use the Tools -> Drive -> Erase bit.
  16. Added this lastnight actually - along with the advanced settings for BenQ drives! Damn my crystal ball is good! EDIT: Oh, it will need to be enabled/disabled everytime though if its not stored in the drives eeprom or wherever. I avoid sending custom commands before a burn because I'm forced to do them by device id strings - and these could change meaning newer drives wont work automatically etc. That just makes it into a bit of a headache supporting them all and updating for every new drive release.
  17. ImgBurn 1.0.0.0 (and all versions of DVD Dec) didn't verify the data, just that the sectors were readable. I thought that had been made pretty clear already. I verify every single burn I do (more to test the program than check the media!) and I've never had a failure. As such, this isn't a global issue with some basic coding error - and therefore it's not one I can fix as quickly as I might like to.
  18. If anything, you'd use the Ricoh tab as that's what old NEC firmwares with booktype setting support used. Failing that, you might find a patched firmware that allows for changing the booktype via the cdfreaks 'nec' forum.
  19. Nope, that is actually quite helpful! Ok, I'm going to need some more details about the filesystem and stuff (locations of files within the image) and the easiest way to get that info is to actually get a chunk of the filesystem and do it myself! Use this little tool to grab 5 meg (hence the name 'Grab5m' !) of the image file in question and then email it to the address in ImgBurn's About box. Usage of the tool is simply, open a dos/command prompt window and just type: Grab5m your_image.iso output_image.iso I know dos based stuff is old but hopefully you're ok with that. If not, I can always help you. Can you also please provide the exact size of the image in bytes. Load the image in ImgBurn and get a screenshot of the main window, that'll do! Thanks and happy new year to you too grab5m.zip
  20. Bloody hell, I really must scroll down the bottom of the forum once in a while! I always miss birthday reminders! Happy Birthday ya old git
  21. Ah ok, I already had some debug code in there that may help us. Before you attempt to load the ISO PgcEdit made, press F6. You should/may then get some additional lines in the log. Just copy + paste it all. Thanks
  22. Oh, my mate said the 800 has a special connector/wire that goes into the phone. The headphones then plug in to another socket (on the other end of that wire) that's up by your neck (once you've got the earphones in!) - kinda like where some have their digital displays or volume controls. He said it's just a normal 3.5mm jack plug - but didn't have the headphones infront of him to be 100% sure on that
  23. Right click the drive drop down box. Or Tools -> Drive -> Erase. EDIT: Oh perhaps you're talking about explorers context menu? i.e. where you right click on a drive? I'm not sure windows is clever enough to have options depending on media type. I'd only ever seen the ability to know if a DVD disc is in the drive. Either way, I'm not looking to extend the explorer integration!
  24. Happy fire/pirate year?!
