  1. I'm sure you're every bit as capable of using Google as I am.
  2. Ok so put the latest ATI drivers on then.
  3. The Asus drives are just like the newer LiteOn 'iHASx24 B' series. If you want that hardware, buy the LiteOn itself. AD-7280S is the latest Optiarc... and that's what I'd get.
  4. Does your motherboard use an Intel chipset? If so, install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3409&DwnldID=20215&keyword=%22rapid%22&lang=eng There's an me02 firmware update available too. http://www.medion.com/au/service/_lightbox/treiber_details.php?did=9505
  5. That's a mighty large AVI file... how many hours does it run for? Convert it to DVD Video format (using DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD, AVItoDVD etc) and then burn as usual.
  6. lol I'm gonna say 'no'... sorry!
  7. If your drive can't initialise those discs then you'll have to try some others. If it fails with everything you should consider it faulty and get a new drive.
  8. Try again after updating to the latest firmware. http://www.firmwarehq.com/Optiarc/BD-5300S/files.html This is a drive/firmware/media combo issue and nothing to do with ImgBurn.
  9. That doesn't look like a blank disc. Try another one.
  10. Happy Birthday! Have a great day
  11. 2.4x might not be the optimal speed for that drive/firmware/media combo. Try the remaining supported write speeds (4x and 6x).
  12. Update the firmware on the drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/BenQ/DW1655/files.html Try burning at the other supported speeds - i.e. 8x rather than 'MAX' (16x)
  13. ok but that didn't fix anything. It just so happened that the burn worked that time.
  14. It's usually instant. If there's an issue with your machine preventing it from being so, turn it off in the settings. Funnily enough it's on the 'Graph Data' tab.
  15. Verifying doesn't do anything to the disc, it just checks it. It doesn't prevent problems, it detects them.
  16. You should copy + paste where you're up to from the log window rather than the log file. There's an update firmware available for your drive. http://www.firmwarehq.com/download_1196-file_7L0M.EXE.html
  17. I doubt the folder structure would cause an issue like that. It would just stop the machine from playing the disc at all. Have you only been burning the same thing over and over again? Maybe it's a glitch in the file. Of course if you've only been burning the same stuff over and over again, the LB would be in the same place too - so if the burn quality at the start of L1 is really low (which is usually the case), it would make it get stuck.
  18. Does your player actually play mpg files? If so, consecutively and seamlessly don't come into it. If you need to convert to the standard DVD Video format (which all DVD players support), you'll have to use something else for that - ImgBurn just burns as-is. Try DVD Flick, ConvertXtoDVD, AVStoDVD etc. The player will boot a supported disc automatically. You don't have to do anything special.
  19. a) It's all the same process, yes. Yes, Blu-ray video discs always uses BDAV/BDMV folders. If the source doesn't come with a certificate folder, you can just make an empty one. Sometimes it's required, sometimes it isn't. Something like multiAVCHD may be able to handle the conversion, it's not really my area. Google it. c) I haven't a clue, again, not my area. d) All drives following the MMC specification should work fine - and they all do now.
  20. It's just a data disc so it'll present you with and play whatever files it supports.
  21. Sometimes it's just due to the folder structure being used - something it doesn't like about it. Other times it could be due to the booktype being used - and you can't change that on your drive, it's always set to DVD-ROM. EDIT: Oh but sorry, your PS3 does play it... just stops at what you're assuming is the LB point. Maybe the drive is doing a shocking job of burning the disc and the PS3 drive can't read it. I have no faith in slimline drives, especially matshita ones.
  22. There's a 'remember copies' option in the settings. It would need to be enabled to remember what you set it to. Worst comes to worst, look at the HLCU\Software\ImgBurn branch in regedit, search for 'copies' (it'll be a partial match) and change the number manually.
  23. This may be of some use - it's basically the same application. http://club.myce.com/f96/cd-dvd-speed-disc-quality-pi-pif-test-96285/ Lower PIE / PIF = a better burn. The graph lines change colour as the numbers increase... so if it's all green (as above), that's a good thing. For PIE, getting between 0 - 20 (I think 0 - 200 stays green, any higher and it goes orange, then red) is as good as it gets. For PIF, getting between 0 - 2 (I think 0 - 10 stays green, any higher and it goes orange, then red) is as good as it gets. A PO error would typically be the same as a verification (read) error in ImgBurn itself. That's were the drive just flat out can't read the (sector on the) disc.
  24. No, slowest isn't always best with the new drives. You basically have to burn a disc at all the supported speeds, then scan them as I did above and see which produces the best graph. The 7280 will only burn MKM-001-00 at 2.4x. I haven't tried it with MKM-003-00 (the 8x Verbatim discs) yet.
  25. The ' ' was supposed to give you a clue as to what you should have done in your first post - i.e. include a log file.
