Trying to create image file from disc??????
LIGHTNING UK! replied to GSPRKY's topic in ImgBurn Support
Your drive just can't read the disc. Is it scratched / dirty? Maybe it's copy protection - ImgBurn can't deal with that. -
Creating bootable ISO from non-bootable ISO
LIGHTNING UK! replied to vstaral's topic in ImgBurn Support
What is it that you're trying to make bootable exactly please? Build mode has a 'Bootable Disc' tab (off the 'Advanced' tab). That's where you configure the bootable stuff. -

Those just means the 'full certification' bit isn't supported by your drive - perhaps because spare areas have been disabled. Zeroing sectors is normal when 'format properly' is enabled.
-
Ok, I've tested it now and it works fine for me I'll have to send you an updated ImgBurn.exe to test out. It adds a bit more debug info to the process of assigning drives to autoloaders. Is your forum email address ok?
-
This is nothing to do with ImgBurn, it's just an exe and does nothing to the system if it's not running. If you Google it, I'm sure you'll find Microsoft's 'Fix It' for issues with CD/DVD drives. It's probably just a bad filter driver or something.

That's a little weird, my LG GGW-H20L certainly doesn't booktype to DVD-ROM after being turned off and on again. From the MSI website... On-Board SATA • 6 SATA II (1~6) ports by AMD® SB750 • 2 SATA II (7~8) ports by JMicron® JMB322 • 1 eSATA port by JMicron® JMB362 - Supports storage and data transfers at up to 3Gb/s So which port number is the drive plugged in to? You'll have to actually look at the motherboard for that info (i.e. open the case )
-
Right, leave it with me. I didn't (couldn't) test it on XP, just Vista and Windows 7.
-
Load the program, press F8, click tools -> search for scsi/atapi devices. Click Files -> Save As in the log window (save to a file somewhere). Upload said file here on the forum. Thanks
-
What controller is the drive attached to? If you don't know exactly, maybe you know what chipset the motherboard uses in general? (Intel, AMD etc) Try turning off the auto change booktype option in the settings, then power the machine down, wait a few seconds and power it back up again. Then do another burn.

Verify Failed! - Reason: Layouts do not match
LIGHTNING UK! replied to roberto21's topic in ImgBurn Support
The old version probably didn't check for the issue. Never assuming you're fixing anything by reverting. If you have a problem, post a log from the current version. We might be able to tell you why things aren't working as they should be. -
Your topic title suggests you want help using this program (ImgBurn) but then you say you understand how to use this program and ask for help using something else... make your mind up! If you want to know how to do something related to ImgBurn (i.e. burning stuff), read the Guides forum. For everything else related to 'downloading' / 'converting' etc, go elsewhere please.

If you write a batch file, sure. Within the program itself, no. Build them as images on your hdd then use the queue in Write mode to burn them.
-
Try burning at 8x instead of 'MAX' (16x).

My ISO image is burned as a movie file
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Hobbes999's topic in ImgBurn Support
Once DVD Flick has finished converting your file(s) into DVD Video format, it will invoke ImgBurn for the actual burning phase. It bundles a much older version though so you might like to copy ImgBurn.exe from ImgBurn's installation folder into the DVD Flick one, replacing what's already there. The alternative is to burn the DVD Flick output (VIDEO_TS folder) manually using the exact same process you used above. Only this time, the disc should work -
ImgBurn can only read discs without copy protection. So if your DVD isn't copy protected, yes it can be used to copy that disc to your hard drive. It sounds like you'd be better off with an actual video tool though because you can't just get a 'clip' out of ImgBurn.

My ISO image is burned as a movie file
LIGHTNING UK! replied to Hobbes999's topic in ImgBurn Support
I think you've got the wrong idea here. An ISO is a container (like a box), you put things in it but you don't 'convert' things into one. What you probably need is something to convert your AVI into DVD Video files (IFO/VOB/BUP files in a VIDEO_TS folder). For that, you should use something like DVD Flick or ConvertXtoDVD. Seeing as how we don't have any instructions on burning AVI files, what exactly were you following 'carefully' ? -
Your drive just can't read the disc. What sort of condition is it in? Does it look dirty/scratched? If so, try cleaning it. If possible, try using a different drive to read it.

That depends on your player. Many of them won't attempt to parse the UDF file system when looking for MP3 files. That's where Joliet comes in.
-
Burn them in Build mode ('write files/folders to disc') and set the file system to 'ISO9660 + Joliet'. Of course the DVD player would need to support playing MP3 data discs for the disc to work.

Of course, development never stops The 'release' version is usually out of date on the same day it's released. You'll have to wait for the next version - which hopefully won't be long now.
-
It would seem that way, yes.

The DMA fix in the FAQ that I mentioned is exactly what I then wrote on the line below. i.e. Uninstall the IDE/ATAPI controllers from within Device Manager and reboot. Uninstalling the drives or channels doesn't do anything/enough, you have to remove the entire controller and then reboot.

It seems their entire website is dead - actually, I already knew that. I'll update the pfctoc.zip links when I release the next version.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear... ImgBurn doesn't process the audio files itself, that's left for DirectShow to do. You can only burn 44kHz, 16 bit, stereo audio data to a disc in CDDA mode, so any file that doesn't match that format would be processed by DirectShow and converted to it (if possible - if it's not, you'll get an error). If the DirectShow filters take your mono wave file and spew out 'stereo' data with the audible sound only coming out of the left/right channel (speaker) then I'm afraid it's out of my hands. Load your mono wave in the 'Create CUE File' window, right click it and pick the 'Display DirectShow Filter List' option from the menu. Let me know what it says (via copy + paste / screenshot etc)
